“Excellent venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

This coffee shop had opened just a few weeks earlier and is situated in the converted village hall with lottery funding. Everything is new and very tastefully done. Largish car park to the rear with a lift enabling wheelchair access to the tea room and a terrace to the rear of the building which is both sheltered and provides a super view across the fell. Some of the full length windows can be opened to effectively open up the tea room to the outside on a warm summers day - real thought has gone in to the design. The cakes were very tasty and the menu looked quite extensive. We will be going back on our next trip to the North Lakes.

“I echo all the other contributors - a little gem of a coffee shop.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Really nice place. Views are excellent, staff very welcoming. We'll worth a visit. This is in a village with some excellent eating houses and the coffee shop does not disappoint!

“Lovely new coffee shop with fantastic view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

We stopped here after walking the railway path from Keswick as other reviewers have done too. Excellent cafe with good freshly prepared food. We had tasty local ham and lovely chutney sandwich and soup with extra cheese and pickle both were tasty and generous servings. The tea came in a big pot with extra hot water too.
The views are superb especially sitting out on the terrace. The cafe is new and all the facilities are fresh and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
