We stayed at The Hollies for 2 nights and had a lovely time. Sue and Andy were the perfect hosts. We stayed in Room 2. Wow, what a view to Clough Head! You can take the old railway walk to Keswick from the village or head out to Mungrisdale village to visit Bannerdale Crags and Bowscale Fell. More options also for Wainwright baggers! The room was lovely with a massive bed and bathroom with natural light. and a starlet mirror girls! The breakfast and packed lunches were first class too. Doggies are welcomed. The village of Threlkled is very picturesque. The Hollies is at the foot of Blenchathra and on a clear day the view is beautiful, which we experienced! The 2 village pubs are a pleasure. The Salutation has had a modern refurb and we ate at the Horse and Farrier on both evenings. The hotel is very olde worlde country pub with yummy food from the bar or restaurant menu. The Salutation is also owned by the same people and the menu looked good too.
