We stayed for one night in two chalets (with 2 kids). The lodge has a great location and provides for good hiking opportunities. Also the (costly) game drive to visit the two (rather tame) rhinos is worthwhile, because you can walk very close to watch them. However, compared to many othe lodges WPL was a disappointment as it is very expensive and the level of lodging, service and food is rather below average. Examples: we got there at 1:30h pm and wanted to have lunch which surprised everyone and we had to wait for 1 hour to be served bad sandwiches for thr steepest sandwich-charge we have seen in all of Namibia. The staff showed us to the chalets and wished us good luck with the luggage (not a problem, but no good service either). The afternoon game drive started 30 min late resulting in hardly any time to get ready for dinner. Dinner buffet was well intended but the main dishes were not great at all with very dry Kudu steak and inedible fish. Whil we were still trying to enjoy our desert the staff was noisyly cleaning up the buffet and open kitchen. Next morning we booked a hiking tour to the Waterberg Plateau (great experience), but in order to get a shower after the hike we had to stay for 30 min overtime because 10am is the usual check-out and the tour started was scheduled 7:30-10am. When we asked if we could keep our luggage in one of our "chalets" for an extra hour and shower there (as we were on our way to the airport), we had a major discussion about packing and showering at the camping site or paying extra charge, befor finally we were granted the extra half hour. The pools one can forget about by the way.
It is a great place locationwise, but definitely not worth the big money they charge.
