“Rooms full of stink-bugs - terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

due to warm winter, without any prior advise. Response of owner highly unfriendly, when we placed the complaint. Summary: NEVER AGAIN

This was the written feedback (email dated June-27,2011)

Dear N...
we have just returned from the trip and I would take a few minutes to inform you that Weaver-Lodge was (by far) the worst accommodation throughout the trip.

As much as we understand that you cannot avoid the intrusion of hundreds of stink-bugs into one room, but we are annoyed that nobody has bothered to informed us before the trip to give us the heads-up and the chance to cancel.........when your employee opened the room, the key did not fit to the lock for 30 minutes, which was right after sunset (for whatever obscure reason)..... and nobody mentioned the problem even when entering the room.......to me a 'friss or stirb'- after sunset policy......Prof. L... was outraged for a few days.

The good aspect though is that all other accommodations (even basic wooden cottages in popa-falls camping - same climate zone) were neat and we won't have this problem again as we won't come again.

Greeting from....

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012 via mobile

Welcomed to this basic lodge as if it was five star. Great bar and pool area, good food. Freshly baked bread a winner although it was served with margarine instead of real butter.. Natural lake well worth a visit and a swim! The rooms are clean and have great views. hot water from a "donkey" made by the fabulous matthew, creates a lovely farm like atmosphere. good camping options and even a small spa. Highly recommended at the value.

Weaver's Rock Guest farm is just sheer delight from the moment you book. It's a farm with about 500 head of cattle on four stations, and the accommodation is in recently-built self-contained chalets, each with a terrace looking out over the veltd to the hills in the distance. Hot water is supplied from a wood-burning stove outside the door, and the water from their own bore-hole very pure.
The farm has been in the same family for about 5 generations, and you get to meet 3 of these during your stay.
You could just stay on the farm, watching the birds or wandering around the grounds, but it's an easy trip up the main road to Otjiwarongo, or a similar distance to the Waterberg Plateau. The 55 minute journey to the Cheetah Conservation is an absolute must, for breath-taking close-up encounters with the cats.
Breakfast and evening meal were included, and everything that you could wish for, freshly-cooked and tasty. Drinks from the bar very reasonably priced.
All in all, a spotlessly-clean guest farm where everyone is out to help you as much as possible. Their own motto of "Arrive as a guest and leave as a friend" says it all.
