We went in the off chance the earlier negative review was wrong. It wasn't!
There was no atmosphere and the staff seemed very young and inexperienced.
We had a terrible bottle of local wine from the estate next door which was like vinegar.
The menu was a throw back to the 1970s, ie melon in port, trout in almonds and blancmange. Hasn't life moved on??
We decided to go for the more expensive set menu. The salads were limp and unappetising. I've bought better in a supermarket bag. They were drowned in strong dressing. The starters seemed to have spent the previous 24 hours in a chiller unit waiting for someone to order them and were fridge-cold.
The bread was stale and had been re-heated so enthusiastically one was burnt to a crisp!
We were so disappointed we actually left the starters half-eaten and argued it out with the staff, finally leaving without paying.
No redeeming features at all, avoid!!
