“OK, once you adjust to quirks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

We own there and since the begining it's been "entertaining". Once you adjust to occasional rudeness and lack of attention to detail it's a much better stay. The maid staff is excellent and SBC has huge potential but until there are some major chages made in upper management and attention to detail they will continue to struggle.

“Is anyone listening?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We just returned on 3/2/13 from one of the worst places we have ever stayed. While the island of St. Maarten/St Martin has so much to offer, staying at the Sapphire Beach Club will cast a big shadow over the good things. Our studio was dirty and run down with leak under the bathroom sink that never got fixed, a staff that was totally unengaged with guests, and a lack of both bath and beach towels on a daily basis. The towels we did get always smelled like they had not been laundered properly. The dead bugs on the floors remained until we cleaned them up. The pool had a greasy haze on it that led us to believe that the pool filter was not operating and water was most Lille not chlorinated carefully -needless to say, we headed to the beach about a mile away since the resrt's beach was about 5 ft deep! The accomodations were large enough but the furniture in the living room was uncomfortable and we ended up having to watch TV from bed. The WiFi only worked in the lobby even though they tried to charge for in-room use. This was our second trip to the island and we would return but NEVER to this resort.

Room Tip: Avoid this resort at all costs. There are too many others to choose from.

“Horrendous - I give it 2 years to be totally run into the ground”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

We have returned from our trip Feb 16, 2013 - Feb. 25, 2013. Although not our first time at this resort, it is definitely our last. Although many complain the staff does not care, they actually do, however, they have no authority or management support to get anything done. If you speak with them, they will all tell you that they get yelled at all day and night. The rooms are a disaster, airconditioning doesn't work, musty smells, bathrooms full of bugs, no toilet paper, no towels, no face cloths, no TV's, no phones, no coffee pots, no toasters, no blenders, no chairs, etc. Our stove went on on its own and the only way they could fix it was to cut the circuit breaker. If you are missing something in your room, they take it from another vacant room and give it to you, instead of replacing and restocking. Beach Towels???? good luck getting any. Instead of purchasing more, they just tell you there aren't any....come back in an hour. I was in the lobby one evening and a guest broke a bottle, the staff looked at it and the manager looked at it and they all walked away. People were walking barefoot and could have easily cut their feet open!!!! There are lines of people complaining all day and night...I could go on and on and on, however, I believe you get the picture, STAY AWAY!!!! Spend your money elsewhere...If anyone states this place is good, and they didn't have any issues, then they are paid or part of SBC to write the reviews. This place is a dump!!!

Room Tip: Use a different resort!!!
