“Wow! What a view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Had a beautiful suite on the third floor, which had balconies off of the living room, kitchen and bedroom (balconies looking in three directions!) The rooms were spotless and well appointed. My only problem was the smell of mold as you walk in the front door of our rooms, but once inside you couldn't smell it any longer. The maid was kind enough to bring me a candle and a lighter. All in all, very comfortable. Wonderful little store in the basement of hotel had everything you might need at very reasonable prices, as well as books to exchange. Lovely pool. Everyone was quite nice. Blair Webb, owner of Blue Reef Charters, took us to wonderful resturants as well as a ride to the airport. Thanks Blair!

Room Tip: Get rooms up high so that you can see the ocean, it is a terrific view!

This was our 4th stay at Sapphire Beach Club, and I must say it is obvious that attempt are being made to make over all improvements. Resort staff were pleasant, Eunice at the front desk working 6 days a week, and who know how many hours a day seems to always be there and pleasant. We actually have stayed in the same villa in the past and it was very clean and repairs were made. I will say that in spite of several attempts to fix the air conditioner on the main floor, maybe it's time to replace, it was bearable, but not great. The rest of the villa was cooled very well. I NEVER saw a roach or any insect at all. Housekeeping does a fantastic job, I believe above and beyond. Full housekeeping is Wednesday and Saturday, but I feel as if it was done daily.
We definitely will stay here again.

air conditioning not working (and it will always be repaired for tomorrow - two weeks after I left the hotel the outboard motor was still under repair), the room was not cleaned every day, there is mold on the walls and cockroaches in the bathroom.

We stayed in the villas...right on the beach. Going to sleep and waking up to the waves crashing wears wonderful! The private pool was also very nice...it got a lot of use.

The cleaning staff did a good job keeping the place clean for us. Daily clean towels, basic cleaning, etc. A/C worked very well.

There was a new little restaurant about 50 yards away called Fig...great place to eat! They just opened up and food was very good and fresh and reasonably priced.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

This property is a dump! My wife and I stayed at this property and checked out after one night. The roaches are everywhere in the units. Do not think about sleeping with the lights off. We moved to 3 units in the first hour after check in. We have traveled all over the world and this is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at anywhere. The staff is also rude and could careless about your requests. The rooms were dirty and we also had problems with the AC. They wanted to charge us when we checked out the next morning for the additional nights we had booked.

Room Tip: Run away from this hotel!

Do not stay here! Just because others posted how great this place is, does not mean that the roaches that were in this place did not creep into theirs. I can't believe this place remains open. It needs to be demolished. A few "great" rooms can not make up for this pathetic excuse of a hotel. It smelled, it was filthy, the ac did not work, and it was not fun keeping all the lights on because of fear of the roaches that would overtake the room even more. RUN!!!

We just came back from St Maarten from my wedding trip (In Anguilla). We were a large group of people staying at the Sapphire and we had a great time. The reservation manager Curlee did a great job coordinating the rooms. The views from the rooms are very very nice.
Jose and Santana at the front desk were very helpful with assisting with our large group needs and requests. The AC does need to be fixed but the fans were working and the rooms temperature was not bad at all, I understand that some people are pickier than others or just have higher expectations but I've advised our group that this is not a 5 stars hotel and that we needed to be realistic that for the price that we were paying it would not be perfect.
There are a few little things that could be easily improved like new pillows, the AC... A little TLC and some renovation would definitely make this a great resort. But once again, every time we needed something they rapidly assisted.
The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, the housekeepers cleaned the rooms daily and provided us with fresh towels and linens... they were friendly to all of us.
There was music by the pool, a good vibe all around.
The Port Cup Coy is very close and is great for evening dining and entertainment for the whole family and there is a great grocery store as well. Mullet Bay is nearby as well.
The kids loved the pool, hotel location was very nice and the little secluded CupeCoy beach (few minutes walking) was just a peaceful place to hide.
We would definitely stay at the Sapphire again and we wish that they do not let go of this resort because besides its age and wear and tear it have all of the potential to be a fantastic Resort!
Bring repellents because the bugs in the Island love the taste of the tourists :-)

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view rooms, bring repellent.
