“Best value, nice rooms, 11 kms to Hampi and under staffed Blue Mist”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

Overall, this is probably the best value hotel I have been in quite a while. Staff are very courteous and friendly.
Rooms are neat and clean (choose the new block) and has a pleasant central courtyard. The restaurants are good, the best food we had in hospet among the places we sampled including Royal Orchid. Couple of things to be noted about restaurants: 1. Blue mist seemed severely under staffed considering the peak season rush 2. During breakfast buffet in Temptations, the glasses kept for juice were not clean. Apart from that, no complaints.
All in all, this is the place I would stay in my future trips to Hospet.

Traveled to Hampi for a different kind of New Years. Heard good praise of the hotel from lot of people before starting so decided to trust them with our care. Every word was true - hospitable staff, good service though improvements can be made at places; no complaints as such.

The room was very spacious. Clean mostly. Finer touches could be made e.g. bathroom door from inside needed painting, armchair fabric need changing due to age. None too bothersome.

Food is very good, to the extent that our friends from other hotels were coming to this place to have food.

Finally and most importantly, best value for money. Other hotels which we had shortlisted were far too expensive with either same or worse level of service (as experienced by our friends)

Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay as far from the fountain which makes a huge noise.

We traveled to Hampi and stayed overnight at this Hotel. The Hotel is decent the staff is courteous. The cleanliness is O.K., but could have been better. Some mosquitoes found near toilet. We had dinner and breakfast in the Restaurant. Both dinner and breakfast was very good. It is value for money and would stay here again. Good to stay with family. I forgot my Internet Dongle while vacating the Room.

Our Hampi trip (Dec 23rd to 26th 2012) was one of the most wonderful ones we have had so far. Hampi, in itself is a world of its own! Words flow like a splendid and gracious waterfall, while describing a trip to Hampi. The temples, monuments, and the architecture have stones, each of which, narrate a story of their own.
Coming back to Malligi, resort is centrally located (and is about 14 kms from Hampi), the rooms are ok, nothing spectacular, but, worth the price. They have rooms in the new block as well, which looked quite elegant. We were given a room in the old block and unfortunately, couldn't get a change of room, since the entire resort was running full during the week of Christmas. Bathrooms, definitely need maintenance (water clogging was seen often, which was irritating) and the toiletries in there were very basic and nothing exotic. The house keeping staff is yet to be trained well to maintain a tidy atmosphere, not to forget the not-so clean bed sheets and blankets. The pool at Malligi was almost non functional (they claim that Mondays are the non-functional days of the swimming pool) and we saw some maintenance work going during all the 3 days. The front desk is quite helpful at check in and one of the staff provided us with information about the sight-seeing to Badami, Aihole, and Pattadkal an in depth. Do not miss out these three world-class heritages on your visit to Hampi, which itself is a numero uno heritage wonders of the world.
Their Blue Mist restaurant is decent and looks quite hep in the evenings. But, lacks in space to beat the tremendous crowd, especially during dinner. We used to get weary of the wait and when we requested the admins, we were led to a basic outlet on the terrace, we had no choice, but eat there, because we were so tired after a long day of sight-seeing. The vegetarian buffet
at the Temptations restaurant was just awesome, comprising a wide range of South-Indian delicacies. Get there early, as early as 7 AM in the mornings to beat the crowd or just be satisfied with crumbs of idlies if you are late. The sumptuous breakfast kept us through the day during our daily sight-seeing ventures. There is a mix of Veg and Non Veg food served at the Temptations for lunch and dinner and hence, the veggie crowd stuck with Blue Mist.
The services at the restaurant were very tardy and a simple lunch would take you around an hour and a half, not exaggerated. On the last day of our stay, we preferred to have a quick lunch, before starting from Hampi, but the lunch services delayed us to a great extent. However, it is advisable to have lunch (if you are driving back), because the highway is devoided of even small hotels. Beware!! the food (except the breakfast) is really spicy.
The resort has its own ups and downs, but definitely, offers a pleasant stay, for Hospet standards. Highly recommended, with a lot of suggested improvements required at their Blue Mist restaurant.

Room Tip: * Select rooms in the new block and book in advance. * Do not miss Badami, Aihole, Pattadkal, and K...

We stayed at Hotel Malligi from Dec 23, 2012 through Dec 25, 2012 (old block). Front office people make you feel always "welcome". Best place to stay with family and explore Hampi. Rooms were spacious. Bathroom was okay. Blankets and towels were provided. Hot water was available. Laundry service was excellent. Restaurant was good. Excellent room service. Travel desk was also helpful. Newspapers could have been provided as complimentary copies. Otherwise, I would recommend to my friends and family.
