“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We stayed at Hotel Malligi around Christmas 2012 and made it our base for exploring Hampi. It looks like the hotel has been renovated recently, and the rooms were well-equipped. We lucked out and got a suite (though we'd reserved only a regular double room) and that made our stay even better.

The service is prompt and the hotel staff is unfailingly courteous and thoughtful. The breakfast spread was good, but there was no variety day-to-day and it can get a bit boring after the 2nd day.

The attached restaurants are good too. We ate in the restaurant, and ordered room service. While the food isn't anything fancy, it was good and inexpensive. It's a great value for money place, especially compared to other tourist spots where the same price will buy you pretty average amenities. It's well-located too, with easy access to Hampi by car. The travel desk was quite helpful in getting us set up with a travel guide and recommending places close by.

Our only grouse was with the hot water/shower. The water was never hot enough for winter (any time of day) and the shower pressure was poor. There was a huge political event in the banquet area while we were there, and the parking was inadequate and disorganized on that day. But overall, we'd recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Stayed at Hotel Malligi during my leisure trip with family in November 2012. Excellent welcome at the reception and I was upgraded to an executive room since the normal room which I had blocked was not available.. so it was a delight. Nice and clean food available. Buffet breakfast had a vast spread and was good. Overall, a pleasant experience given that Hospet has limited options available.

Good for value money, don't expect anything fancy. Good location, breakfast was fine. Rooms are bit old & not that well maintained, restaurant was Ok. Has a large pool, room service was prompt.
I hired a cab from the hotel, surprisingly it wasn't expensive & provided good service!

The hotel is located around 3Kms from the City Rly station and is almost walkable from the bus stand. There are around 200 rooms of different types and the details can be found on the website. We booked a std AC double room which was pretty decent and comfortable. The hotel has 2 wings with road in between. The swimming pool, spa & restaurant are in the new block and old block has rooms and another restaurant. Food in both restaurants is good. Staff was very courteous and polite. There is also small shop within the reception for buying gifts/memoirs etc. Overall the hotel is very well maintained and clean. The travel desk at the hotel is some what costly and you can find better deals outside. If you plan to stay in Hospet while visiting Hampi, then this is a good place to stay. I made booking by sending mail directly to the hotel staff and they did the booking on email itself without any advance payment etc. So no need to book through any travel agents or websites and no tension of part payment/cancellation charges etc. I found this feature particularly helpful. Very good experience staying here and the prices are very affordable for the standards and service maintained.

Room Tip: Do request for discounts, the booking folks may give you a good deal on negotiations. Check if the r...

We travelled for 2 day hospet visit and stayed here. I was surprised to know that they are charging 1800 only for the rooms and services they are providing. No doubt, this hotel gives almost all those services and facilities that you get at 5 star hotels in small town like, Hospet. Staff are well trained and management was very helpful. Well spread hotel with two nice restaurants, swimming pool. Food was great as well, overall. Just 10-14 kms away from Hampi sites. Free WiFi, 24x7 checkout/checkin, Nice AC rooms as well, have good bookstore i purchased 2 books. Will stay again in this hotel, when we will trip to Hampi again :-).

*The bathroom need some better or improved ventillation.

Room Tip: Ask Management to give room that have optimal ventillation in bathroom.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel in October 2012. First good things. Excellent staff, excellent breakfast, fast check in, not far from Humpi. Not so good things now - rooms are terrible and so is bathroom. Hotel badly needs a huge big renovation. Rooms are dusty, dark and bathroom does not have a clean look.
