“Smart hotel in a quiet seaside village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Les Eucalyptus is a very smart hotel in a quiet, sleepy village, hidden from the road in a pleasant garden on an uphill slope which gave us a splendid view of the bay from our bedroom. A plentiful breakfast was served outside on the terrace which was very relaxing and the staff were extremely helpful.

The village is very small with a long sandy beach and a harbour for boats at one end, yet strangely enough while there were few shops the place seemed almost overrun with upmarket hotels and restaurants. However, we were there in September so perhaps the place bustles with tourists in high season.

Of mention if you prefer a simple life is a small bar which provided down to earth wholesome meals at everyday prices, where all the locals seemed to go - Chez Bebe if I remember correctly (turn left as you leave hotel and shortly after the last glitzy beach bar you will find it on your left). I also recommend Serra di Ferro just a short drive away.

Room Tip: As was so often the case in Corsica there wasn't a lift so ask for ground floor accommodation if...

I have been staying in Porto Pollo since 1984, my parents have stayed, I have come on my own and with my own family and every single time I stay here at Les Eucalyptus I'm reminded how it is possible to run a small hotel perfectly. It is like an almost silent, gem of a watch that runs perfectly with only imperceptible attention.

The standard was set by the now retired owners and carried on by their family. Rooms are simple, quiet, SPOTLESS, comfortable, without being luxurious, and nearly all possess the most delightful views of the bay and village. As the evening sun cools one hears the gentle 'plop' of tennis being played on the hotel court.

Breakfast on the main terrace is again a simple but perfect affair and typically French, bread, confiture, croissant, plain yoghurt, fruit compote, coffee or tea. Cereals for children on request.

A simply wonderful base from which to explore or just enjoy then beach and some casual lunches in and around Porto Pollo and Serra di Ferro. I agree that the rooms are not for lounging in nor the balconies big enough for a party, but you are in Corsica, so get out and enjoy what it has to offer...

Room Tip: If you are one or two, ask for a room on the first or top floor (great views). if you are traveling...

Porto Pollo is nice location for couple of evening maximum. Hotel is nice, clean, nice people in reception - they helped us with baby cot even if we have not reserved it in advance. Double room in our case meant two beds put together with different matraces what is not the thing we like. Hotel has nice self made book on things around the region.

Room Tip: I fyou are staying longer it makes sense to get rooms with sea view for approximately 18 EUR more pe...

We wanted to book the larger room, but they weren't available; so twin beds, and not so much room around them. The bathroom is fine, again, perfectly serviceable. Tiny balcony where you can squeeze two people, but a view to the sea. An okay place to base for the hiking and beaching around Porto Pollo, but, but not a place for romance and relaxing in your room! Walls were a bit thin, and could hear the TV in the next room in the evening when we were getting ready for dinner...Free wifi was much appreciated...

This is a very clean, functional and comfortable hotel in a small town of Porto-Pollo. The room we stayed had a balcony with an ocean view and the rate was reasonable and it's accross from the beach.
We enjoyed staying in this hotel and will go back if you have a chance to go to Corsica again.
