The complex of The Holy Trinity is an interesting building that started as a pagan temple and was consecrated as a Christian Church in 1059. Inside you will find art work from the time when the Normans controlled this part of Italy and they buried some of their most important leaders here, including William Iron Arm, Drogo, Humfrey and Robert Guiscard.
The church is located on the east end of town right next to the Roman excavations. The hours vary but the lions out front are always friendly and inviting.
Attached to the rear of the Church is L'Incompiuta, the shell of a grand plan for a larger church that was never completed. This complex is always open and is interesting to walk amongst the majestic walls and columns. Be sure to look for the pieces of stone that were excavated from the nearby Roman ruins.
