“great place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

I had a fantastic day at the park, its great to be so close to all the beautiful animals who are so well looked after. The keepers are very friendly & will take time to answer any questions fully. To be able to walk around with Cotton Top Tamarins, & Lemurs running round your feet is amazing, plus all the ducks, geese, swans etc. I had a really good meal in the cafe, & it was a good price as well-makes a change nowadays!!!! It beats other zoos hands down, a lot of places the animals are to far away to see properly. I would recommend South Lakes to everyone who wants to see beautiful animals & have a good meal.

“Highly entertaining.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012 via mobile

Visited on a sunny day, which meant all the lemurs (which run wild) were out sunbathing. My childish enthusiasm was highly entertained by this. You'll see why when you visit.
Also entertaining, was the over abundance of strict Health & Safety signage: do not cross the barrier, do not sit on the barrier, do not touch the fence, do not put fingers through the fence, do not feed this, do not feed that, do not move the chairs, do not touch the lemurs etc. Oh, how very tempting it was to touch the lemurs!!!
Great day, in autumn sunshine. Thank you.

“Amazing day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

A fantastic wildlife park where a lot of animals are able to roam free. Well worth the entry fee and a thoroughly enjoyable, educational day out.

“AMAZING!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

I took my family to the animal park in september it was amazing, as soon as we walked through the gates we were greeted by lemurs and little monkeys running around freely. The cafe is nicely presented and has a good range of refreshments. There are all sorts of animals to see and all in huge enclosures or running free and look healthy and happy and the you can tell the keepers really love the animals they care and talk about, feeding the emu's is hilarious i wanted to take one home! If its a sunny day make sure to take a seat on the benches by the lake and all the lemurs will sit around you and sun bathe. A brilliant day out for children and adults. I can't wait to go back!
