We booked in advance for this place, as recommended, and it exceeded our high expectations. On arrival, we were shown to a cosy table by the comfy banquette, and the place was already almost full. It was a bit noisy I thought, but I didn't mind the buzz and the vibrant atmosphere it generated. We ordered duck pastries as a starter to share, and a not-quite-Moroccan but perfectly executed duck confit with gnocchi, and a lamb tagine with candied almonds for mains, and two glasses from an intriguing wine list. The wait for the food was quite long, and then Faye (the owner) came out holding our two mains. She looked a little startled when I told her we were still waiting for our starter. But being a professional, she quickly offered us the mains first, and gave us the starter for free! I thought that was very clever of her. The mains were really good, every mouthful was bursting with wonderful flavours. The duck confit was one of the best I've had. And Faye was very friendly and looked after all her diners with a smile. The prices were not cheap, but I thought the cost was reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients and the cooking. I will definitely be back!
