““Excellent hotel, location and staff!!!””
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

My wife and I just spent 2 great nights at the crowen plaza hotel in the dead sea while on our honeymoon. We have travelled since Dec 6 through Egypt and Jordan, and found this hotel to be the best in terms of pretty much everything! The staff are wonderful, very attentive to your needs and professional in every way. They continually went above and beyond for us while we were there, and made our stay very nice and memorable. The hotel is kept super clean from top to bottom, the rooms very modern and comfortable with great beds, and it also has probably one of the nicest roof top pool/patio/restaurant views that we have seen!

The biggest hotel and spa in Jordan simply amazing location, facilities, rooms,
was amazed by the staff , on your way to the beach everybody is welcoming, and wants to help, makes you feel like a big shot and even one bar man had to miss his bus after a nervous customer said if you close at 4 are you telling us to go home! Simply they are very customer oriented. and the breakfast is various, clean and simply amazing and up to standard. And THE BURJ-EL HAMMAM restaurant is expensive but worth every penny.

The greatest joke is big engineering mistakes;
1- The heated kids pool is 22 degrees so ,i.e. freezing cold
2-the air conditioning system is either heating to all the place or cooling, which is a three stars hotels standards not a five star , so i had to stay in a very cold room, with no heating until they decide that everybody in the hotel needs heating.
3-the bathroom accessories are wiggling and somebody will get hurt from them, they should be installed using professional materials not the traditional way.
4-cleaning is 95% and can go to 100% with some supervision.

Room Tip: some romes are on the secound floor without lift , so check if it is not comfortable with you

Everything mega and stunning, largest triple pool we've ever seen plus an infinity one over the Dead Sea, long promenades, three aircon lifts to the beach etc.
Good service in general and specially at the main restaurant where on the enormous high quality buffet you can find your favourite food. Wine is at extortionate price.... as you woud expect.
But for the ever present flies bothering you it would be the perfect place to relax. In fact there isn't anything else to do. The Dead Sea is a bit depressing,... It's just "DEAD" ... no living creatures in it, no boats, no sails, cannot swim. The only reason to go in is to have a picture taken, 5 minutes, then back to the pools.
To relax you have to stay indoor or hope for a bit of wind that discourage the flies desire to camp on every part of your exposed body.
One full day at the end of the Jordanian trip is great... could even put up with the flies.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Dead Sea just after its opening for a conference. the hotel is lovely, huge swimming pool and lots of communal areas. My room was quite spacious with a balcony and a nice view out to the Dead Sea over some rather jazzy fountains.
The staff were very attentive and firendly. Breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice (including marmite and soya milk!).
I particularly enjoyed trips down to the sea where there are very friendly staff on hand to help you if you need it, whether you've managed to get water in your eye or just to help you walk across the pebbles to get into the water or wash the mud of your back!
The spa is also fantastic. Staff are very proffessional and the treatments divine.
The only small drawbacks are that there is no wifi in the rooms (there is a cable which I couldn't use), though you can use it in the bar/lobby area and drinks at the bar are pricey!
The conference facilities were also excellent and the staff very available and attentive to all of our needs throughout.

The location and the architecture is nice. But the rotten fruits (fungis on the sliced grapefruits, oranges, carotts etc )@ breakfast was horrible. Despite that we notified the staff the first day, it was the same the second day... For how many days do they keep the food ???? Never saw that in my life!!!
We were woken up by a guy cleaning with a water compressor at 6 am. 2 phone calls to the reception (we got the very helpful
And show off answer " we are contacting the engineering department ") and 45 min after, the guy was still operating and i had to go outside to ask him to stop. Some of the staff were very kind some others really with a terrible attitude.... Need still an extensive training for basic polite behaviour... Safe guards at the pool keeps withstling to call his colleagues.. Cool when u want to relax.

The hotel and rooms are stunning, and the standard of amenities very high. However it is obvious that the hotel has opened for business before they are properly ready. Staff are eager to please but really don't know what to do or how to do it. Every request, other than the most basic, is regarded with a mixture of bewilderment and confusion.
Nothing is easily resolved, and it takes forever to obtain the most basic service - for example no pool towels were available when I needed one and someone had to be despatched to find one, which seemed to be a surprisingly difficult and time consuming exercise.
They also seem able to communicate only in very loud and aggressive tones, and trying to relax next to the pool was an ordeal. Accompanied by hammering, drilling, sawing and shouting, as yet another "running repair" was conducted, it did not make for a very relaxing afternoon!
In summary - it will be good eventually, but some fairly hard work will be required before I would be prepared to spend that amount of money there again.
