“A lovely stay in the Dead Sea over New Years”

The Jordan Valley Marriott Resort and Spa was a very good stay for New Years Eve.

The room, although not particularly extravagant, was large and comfortable and had two large Queen Beds in the twin room. It overlooked the hotels large internal pool and courtyard, which was pleasant (although, the balconies do not offer much privacy as they are minimally separated from the neighbouring room).

Wandering down to the Hotel's beach is a true treat. Its great fun drifting in the Dead Sea, with the view of Israel in the distance. Its almost eerie. It is a bit of a hike to get from rooms down to the beach, however.

For New Years Eve, the Hotel's Acacia bar, with its live pianist was a nice start to the evening. The Steak House, although expensive, also offered excellent service and very good food that justified the cost (we were happy to skip the hotel's many buffet's that were being specially run for the night).

The hotel ran a special New Years Eve party in its Ballroom, which was really good fun. Everyone was enjoying the dance floor.

The breakfast was good, but the hotel was so busy that there were waits for tables. Also, there were long queues to check in and out.

Room Tip: Get a room that overlooks the pools. A lot nicer than the carparks!

last time , i will not go there again ; the hotel needs lots of care regarding customer care.

Nice hotel has nice rooms but very very expensive so that when you go there take big amount of money to spend there. Last month i went there and stayed three nights but after i finished the trip there i found myself with my wife and child had spent around 1500 JD. When i arrived this bad hotel the security checked my luggage and prevented me to take anything with me to inside and they threw all the food staff in the garbage as they told me later.
Do not go there and Amman public beach is better.

What a brilliant place. Location Location. Prior to holidaying in Jordan my wife and I did a lot of research. The 3 resorts in this area all got mixed reviews but we just got a good feeling about the Marriott and it proved to be right. I can't recommend this property more highly. The rooms were excellent the service warm and friendly and the facilities brilliant. As the title of this review says, "you get what you pay for" and this is the case with the Marriott. It was exactly what I expected for the money I spent. One small limitation was the time of year that we were travelling (August) it was ramadan and some of the resorts restaurants were closed but there were still plenty of choices.

This is a nice hotel , located on the dead sea , nice view , good food specially the boffee and the Italian restaurant, very good spa and swimmingb pools area.

Room Tip: ask for rooms in the grand floor facing the swimming pools area

When i arrived the hotel the security staff checked me and my luggage were looking as i thought dangerous equipment but definitely i was wrong because they were looking for nuts , seeds, alcohol drink, sandwiches, juice and every kind of food then i but these things back in my vehicle after that i moved to the reception and i met i trainee person there and the time was 12:45 afternoon and he checked my reservation and told me the room number 204 will be ready within one hour and gave me the towels vouchers then i left to the pool with my family. At 1:45 i saw guests in the same room and directly proceeded to the receptionist and asked him what about the room number 204 the guests still inside and you told it'll be ready at this moment. he called room serves and told me again i'll give you room number 206 and he moved to the room i was with him in that moment i saw the room service were making up the room and they told me it'll be ready around three o'clock pm. At 3:15 pm i passed from the room area and i saw two females were inside the room directly i went to the reception and i was very angry and upset and asked them what is going on why you gave the room to these females may be are very nice or they have back up. and finally i got my room at 03:30 pm without any excuse. During my stay everything was very very expensive and because i left all the food and drink staff in my car i was forced to buy from inside the hotel up of my approve. everything inside the hotel was nice and great but i was nervous during my stay and nobody show me any interesting. I was in the third pool's bar with my family also in the same night and i ordered for one Argeeleh and two cocktails and bottle of water and i was shocked when i saw the bill, it was 20 JD and i knew why they prevented me to take anything with me to inside the hotel. The services on the pool was perfect and great. Also i was shocked in the next day when i went to the breakfast with my kids without my wife, we were one adult and two kids and the restaurant told you have to pay for one child and i told here we are three and one adult and two kids after a discussion with her she left and gave me a voucher for 4 persons. I'll not go back to this hotel in my next vacation.

Lovely resort ... Unhelpful reception ! Rood ones ... Same service at breakfast !!! ... The unbelievable thing was when we ordered a extra bed for my 10 years old son & they brought us a duvet in order to sleep directly on the floor ....!
Shall I describe how a little spoiled guest on the breakfast wanted to feed the cats ... The servant got her from the buffet many things in a plate .... When I once entered near the buffet I saw the servant putting back the food was in the cat's plate into the buffet ...
Never think of going back to ... Movenpick resort next door is much much better all in all ...
I've to mention that I was there in May ...
