One of the best resort i have stayed till date. From the check in to check out everything was smooth and professional. The resort has a good view of the beach and estuary. The food was good but highly priced.

We were here for two nights from 14 th to 16 th.The problem was a lot of wasted time in the boat transfer. We were greeted at the lobby by the manager who led us to rooms 205 and 206.The rooms appeared ok but the bathroom was pretty terrible, with rusted taps and a low sink which was not properly fixed and a nasty smell.Other aspects like food was good but I think for the price they charge better options are available.I feel that this place is not for revisit and is easily forgotten.

Poovar Island resort is one of the best resorts in Trivandrum blessed with charm of the nature .Its an island resort surrounded with Neyyar River and Arabian sea. .Rooms are well maintained and is upto the industry standards.has a very good swimming pool. More over the Resort Manager Mr Rex is very good person always meets people with a good smile and is ready to address any problem of the guest. Regarding the location of the resort its one of the best at trivandrum with a beautiful view towards the lake and sea.it will be awesome and pleasant experience to stay over here.

We stayed at the resort for 11 nights and in our experience this was not long enough. The staff were fantastic and so helpful. The resort is beautiful, accessible by boat only so has the advantage of being totally restful, great place to relax. The wildlife is amazing, but please do not go to the Lion Sanctuary , Deer Park or crocodile research centre, totally upsetting for animal lovers and the fact that Steve Irwin has put his name to it worried us immensely.
The food was all Indian (this is being rectified by October 13) but I loved it anyway.
Don't hesitate you will not be dissapointed and we intend to go back.
Worth mentioning they have a fantastic tailor and dentists (both resident) so any dental work wait until you get there and go with an empty case as his handmade clothes are just beautiful- and helps to keep them in work
Have a wonderful time.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms where they have students staying...usually beginning of September- however we were moved...

It is beautiful island with beach so close and viewable from resorts.
Food was wonderful with wide options in buffet.

Rooms can be better especially the cot with surprisingly over height

The beach was not polluted and not over crowded. there is still an opportunity to improve cleanliness at beach

Overall good experience best part is beach and food

Well we have booked this hotel for Last night of our 6 Night Kerala tour, Glad that we stayed only one night there. It was our first wedding anniversary and I was told by my travel agent that it is a paradise in Kerala. Well you need to catch a fairy from the Drop Off Zone where a WATCHMAN greets u but the way is serene with all the jungles and backwater. Reception area is good with a Pool behind it, pool was nice.. We booked Land Cottage the room was pretty nice and big with comfortable bed but the Bathroom was big disappointment, there were very old design sanitary wear which need immediate replacement plus the only soap and shampoo were there in the name of toiletries. There were a patio on the back side of the cottage but we couldn't use it because of in the noon it is humid and in the evening there were lot of bugs and flies around. Well there are no activities to do in resort, the Golden beach is across the resort but being public it was very dirty. The Ala carte food was not up to the mark and the restaurant is the only option to have a food.. The only good thing happens to us is the candle light dinner which we booked in the noon.. they placed the table at a very quite area in the lawn next to the restaurant area, the table was nicely decorated and the dedicated staff served us well.. However in the morning we had to leave early to catch the flight and we requested restaurant manager to make us boxes of the breakfast. Next morning to our surprise there were no boxes available in restaurant, when we requested the restaurant guys to pack us some breakfast they straight away denied saying we are busy preparing breakfast. Well there were few items available that time which we had only. The restaurant staff was very rude. Well the hotel is not recommended for long stays as you need to catch Fairy every time you have to go out of the resort.. It is much better and nice to stay in Kovalam which has much better resorts then this one. Unchi Dookan Ka Pheeka Pakwan
