Here is a pleasant surprise, Granville has many restaurants, but most seem to sell fast food, moule frites and seafood platters etc. Le Comptoir offers good quality locally sourced food at reasonable prices, €13.50 for starter and main course, dessert €5 and absolutely delicious. open for lunch most days, there is only the set menu which changes daily. Dinner is served Thur- Sat, but I have yet to try this. There is a good wine list with a selection from various areas in France and other countries, but don't expect any cheap plonk. Service was friendly and efficient, I look forward to my next visit. The restaurant may be difficult to find, unlike most it is not near the port, instead from the town centre take the road leading to the railway station, about 300 meters up the hill past the station you come to a roundabout, take the second turning on the right. The restaurant is approximately 100 meters on the right, about 15 minutes walk from the port.
