“Please do complain- Management problem not the Staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2009

There is a list of all guests that are not satisfied at this hotel.Surprise surprise i'm one of them.
When reading all the reviews- everything is true but I have more!!!
This hotel has been sold and therefore we have experienced all these problems. The x manager who lives in Villa next to hotel got broken into and police called. Next night 5 gun shots went off just at back of hotel. We were all asked to move away from pool bar and sit in restaurant with lights out, music off. My 5 year old daughter was terrified, we tried to tell it's fireworks but she new all right.
A few days after 2 men in suites came round taking equipment that was left. Think you might call them the bay lifts!!!
This hotel will go into receiver ship, as theres not much left.

They ran out of everything from Milk, chips, Vodka, Beer, hot water, cups, glasses(staff smashed them all so you had to buy your own. Lifts not working as costs to much to run, no internet access as the bill hasn't been paid, Same for the hot water situation.Best of all they had no money for you to exchange at the end of the week and the hotel is a bit from the centre.
The staff that left before we arrived smashed up the place as a result off not getting paid. The hotel closes Monday 26th Oct and there is guests there till tue. So glad i'm not there now. Things going to kick off on Monday as staff need to get home to their families with no money.
We met people that were there in the summer and said it was a good holiday and they re-booked to go back in Oct. They def got a surprise.
Loved Turkey and planning to go back next year but not to this hotel.
The staff that we left were great. Thanks to you all. Mr Chef guy thanks for keeping milk back for our little girl. In the end the staff were doing there best with what they had left. It's not there fault!!! remember this when you complain.
This was not a cheap holiday by any means. We paid nearly £1000 for 2 adults and 1 child. I no they say you get what you pay for but people here paid much less than we did for the same experience.
Going back to work doesn't seem that bad after all !!!

We were told this hotel was a 5 star when booking, on checking the internet we found it to be 4. On arrival, it looked the part and the reception staff were friendly. The room was similar to pictures we had seen on websites, basic but adequate and so we went down to the bar. It seemed clean and after a while we went back up to get dressed for dinner. The food was disappointing but we thought it might just be a bad night. The next morning was plain omelette and salad - for breakfast! It may well be what the turks eat but is certainly not the continental fayre that has been advertised. Lunch was the leftovers from the previous night and was served yet again for dinner. The following morning there was nothing but salad and a handful of boiled eggs and we were left with possibility of not being able to feed our son for the entire holiday anything but bread and chips. If that wasn't bad enough, the staff were filling the water bottles from the tap, there were flies everywhere with the food left uncovered, and every time you sat down to eat you were surrounded by cats!
There was no kids club and the play area had nothing but a broken swing. The entertainment was lacking with one guest actually providing his own ipod for music to play around the pool. The AI alcohol dried up on 4 separate occasions and two rooms were broken into under very suspicious circumstances. Also, the rep was only present on one occasion and actually took money for excursions that he was never there to check. one couple paid more than £80 and never ended up going anywhere!
There were some members of staff who did more than expected and did try very hard but they told us no one had been paid for 2 months so it was hardly surprising standards had began to slide.
When we called our travel company and asked to be moved we were told we had to pay an extra £250 and when we refused we were offered 3*HB as an alternative to the 5*AI which we had paid for. We were told this was because Tansel Beach was the cheapest 5* in Turkey so what did we expect?! Now i wasn't expecting waiter service at the pool but I did expect to be able to feed my child! We were finally offered a comparable alternative however it would have cost us 250 lira to get there so we decided to stay and use that money to eat out instead. We found a market in town that sold baby food and some guests were very kind and brought us biscuits / weetabix / etc.
However, both a child and an adult ended up in hospital with stomach problems and of the 150 guests present when we arrived, 120 had complained.
Within a few days things did improve slightly but that seemed to coincide with a downturn in some of the employee's attitudes. In the end, the staff were talking freely about how the hotel was finished and had started booking their own transport home for the winter. The hotel management had even employed illegal workers and were refusing to pay them knowing full well they could do nothing about it, despite them not being able to pay to get home.
I would NEVER recommend staying at this hotel however, the resort of Turgutreis itself was lovely and we would definitely go back.

My partner and I arrived in the early hours dying for a drink to find we had to go to the local shop to get some bottled water(luckily 24hrs)couldnt get anything to drink on arrival from the hotel.
Breakfast-well what can I say...shocking!! I can honestly say that cold scrambled egg is something else
Pool side-very slippery as I found out and the pool was freezing cold. The shallow end was deeper than i am tall(5ft4).
Our first day the pool bar ran out of beer and vodka-when I asked for something else was told I have to pay...so much for all inclusive.Beer eventually arrived but still kept running out as did the vodka.oh and if you managed to get a glass you had to keep it all week.
There was tea and coffee but they kept running out of milk.My partner went to reception to complain and told them to go to the shop to buy some(which they reluctantly did).
If you like chicken, liver and cold brussel sproats every day then Tansel is the place to eat.The only thing I can really say that was good about the food was the bread was fresh.
There were cats everywhere while you ate and enough flies to put you right off.
We did meet some really nice people and as everyone was in the same boat it became laughable.Amy I totally agree with everything you have written.
I must mention the hot water or lack of it.We had hot water in our room on the first night then not again until an hour before we left. The management didnt seem to care..
It hasnt put me off going to Turkey but I certainly would not ever go to Tansel beach again.

Right where to start. Tansel beach hotel is a 2 star hotel at most, the food is'nt all chicken so don't believe what everyone else writes on here, you get chicken everyday, but ita accompanied by either beef kebab, spicey beef stew spicey lamb stew etc...So here it is, the hotel works out at 9 pound a day, so dont expect anything amazing, we found it funny that people where constantly complaining, but its totally what you make of the holiday. The rooms where cleaned daily, so clean towels constantly...The fact the was only 2 days of warm water got on my nerves slightly but it all added to the comedy factor! So 9 pound gets you free drinks all day, somwhere to rest your head at night a nice pool, half decent food and somwhere to relax and chill in the sun!! Oh and if you dont like cats dont go there, we counted 8 cats that pester you at the dinner table and theres a couple of dogs, but thier very friendly......So all in all id reccomend tansel beach to people that want a no frills week away from home, not people who actually think its a 4 star hotel, because u will just kill yourself complaining and annoy people like me!

This was our first visit to Turkey, the hotel was surpose to be 4 star it was more like a 0 star, the food was slop with chicken every day and was that bad that locals were referring to us as staying in the "Chicken Farm" Beakfast and snacks were not edable and to top it all off our room was broken into whilst we were out buying breakfast that should have been provided as we were all inclusive!!
On a whole it was a holiday from hell and as a reslut i'd never return to Turkey again it's put me off completely
You'd have to be mad to stay there!

I dont know if it was because we were near the end of the season and they had stock piled the chicken but it was chicken every meal. The food is edible and well cooked no problem with tummy upset or anything like that but much of a muchness - roast chicken at lunchtime then chicken in some sort of sauce at night time.

We arrived first night and went to bar to get a beer, this was served in small plastic cups (type you get at the water cooler in work - actually not as big as that but on the same lines). Asked for a glass and were told they had run out of glasses!!! By the third day we had managed to get a proper glass and the norm seemed to be you kept your glass and had to take it up to the bar and get it refilled or you lost it!!! The hotel constantly ran out of one drink or another (mostly wine) beer on a couple of nights!! Luckily the rooms have a fridge and there is a small supermarket outside the gates of the hotel so even though we were all inclusive we ended up buying our own beers so we could put them in the fridge.

The staff were not too nice - the barman had a total mard on if you asked for a beer - i always say please and thanks but by about day five i had given up on that he just looked at me like i was stupid so i gave up trying.

If the staff and management put an effort in this could be a lovely place to stay - the rooms were spacious and the surroundings were nice. The private beach was a bonus. Fair enough its 10 mins from the nearest town but the bus comes every 10 mins. It seems to be they were just running down the hotel - the al carte restaurant was closed - it was only the pool bar that was open even though there was another bar at reception.

We met some people on holiday who had never been to Turkey and this had put them off - we tried to convince them that Hotel Tansel Beach was nothing like a normal holiday to Turkey so lets hope they listened
