We chose to go horse backriding at La Estrella ranch in Santa Elena. The horses were tame, friendly and very well taken care of. Our guide didn't speak english and we didn't speak spanish but we were able to communicate somehow. He was really nice and made sure we got our full horse backriding time. We did the sunset tour and it was amazing watching the sunset on top a mountain overlooking the pacific ocean. 99% of the ride was on a private ranch rather than on the road. We even saw a sloth and a mini waterfall. Bring jacket even if it's warm to start because as the clouds roll in and the sun sets it gets cold.
