We happened to arrive at the Bat Jungle at feeding time and a tour was in progress (a couple from Italy). Probably because it was the low season and Sunday, the guide/researcher let us join the tour for quite a reduced rate, yet we still got at least 30 minutes of a tour and time for pictures. It was noon and the bats were active. We learned that bats hold down the insect population and are in danger of extinction.
The guide was a researcher/protege of the original "bat man" Dr. Richard Laval, well-known biologist, and was passionate about the bats. It was a very interesting tour.
