“Nice place with sweet staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

This place is nice - the food is absolutely excellent - good for children - and comfortable apartments.

It is bad with the spa - the way they try to sell you treatments.

Don´t like that hotell. Bad service, booring food, dirty rooms..... dont`t go there if you like to keep good or any quality. Personal was very tired for their job. Internet connection work or don`t work. 90% of time don`t.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

We went there with whole family for two weeks just to feel that we are in holiday.
This is only second time when we used a travel agency and we gave it a try to see how it will end. We used Finnmatkat as we live in Finland. We had the "All Inclusive" package just to clarify the basics.

Here are the good things:

- New rooms are beter than usual 4**** rooms. (In the new tall buildings, rooms 8xx)
- All pools are heated so water temperature was between 33-35 degrees.
- Multiple pools including water sliding facilites running from 10:00-12:00 and 15:00-17:00. (looks to short period but believe me is more than enough)
- Kind of campus stile, plenty of green stuff.
- Extremely clean everywhere: campus, kitchen, rooms, alleys, gardens, pools (except sea)
- Plenty of places under umbrellas around the pools so no need to go and reserve one.
- Great food variety and plenty of it.
- Great variety of drinks and they where original (things like CocaCola/Fanta/Sprite..etc., those where genuine and not some cheap no-name ones)
- Enough places to eat with great variety of places (inside, outside, beach bar etc.)
- A/C was used in a moderate way in common areas so when you go in and out often then you don't get sick.
- Only scandinavian peoples around. That's in my opinion a very positive bonus as the scandinavian peoples doesn't act as wild animals on holiday. That means, a que is a que and nobody want's go in front, by the pool nobody will jump in your head or push you or your kids around and so on. So overall, this was a big advantage.
- Cleaning the pool areas with detergent every nigh, pools disinfected all the time.
- Big park area for kids with toys.
- Big chess game that I found really nice to use it.
- In house spa with turkish bath and massage. (must go place)
- Transportation by hotel bus (extra costs) to and from Alanya.
- Great packages for different trips available with extra cost (organized by the travel agencies)
- ATM about 500m from the hotel on the left.
- Small shops in the hotel area with fair prices in general and if you want more stuff other shops are about 400m away.
- Nice entertainment every second night with live music, magicians, fire show, balloon show and so on. They will repeat in every week but we enjoyed them even seeing it second time. Suggestion: Go one day in advance to reserve a table in the open area or go around 19:00 before dinner is opened so that you can get a table in the open area, then you can enjoy the show from the table.
- Good drinks. Efes beer, good taste and light so that you can drink it all day with no problem. Ice is done from bottled water so no problem with that neither.
- Great covers during sleep. When you will use them you will understand what I mean. They are from some natural stuff so you will not get wet from heat but still keeping you worm.
- In the rooms starting with 8, the AC is Mitsubishi really good quality, silent and extremely good cooling capabilities.
- Free WiFi internet in certain areas. Computers for rent if needed with 5 Liras / 30min or 8 Liras / 60min.

Here are the bad things:
- A/C will cost extra 50 EUR/week even that the package was "All Inclusive" So I don't really understand what is this stupid thing? First of all can't be 4**** hotel without included A/C so if this is the Turkish touristic habit across all country I will never go there again. I just don't like to be cheated like that.
Did I paid All Inclusive? Yes! That means I will go there and nothing else is needed to be purchased. In other words there should be no hidden costs. Make peoples to not go there again. Once you pay things including rooms and food then you don't really expect any extra costs just to be able to live there. Outside where 36 Degrees so how you can be without AC? What is next? Asking for some extra money to have a bed?
- 14 EUR/week the safe box. In the old rooms in the safe box you can put your wallet and nothing else, in the new rooms the size is right, you can fit your laptop, foto cameras and anything else valuable. Again, paying for them is rubbish way of doing business. This I'm calling cheating.
- 1 EUR / day for each of the pool towels. What did they tried to do with this except pissing of peoples? All Inclusive again is not really all inclusive if you need to "rent" a stupid towel.
- No shower gel or shampoo. So you need to go and purchase it with a price that is higher than in Europe.
- Old rooms are under 2** star level. So fi you need to stay in those ones, your holiday will be ruined. Be sure to ask in advance confirmation that you will get a new room (Number of rooms starting with 8) Those old rooms are breaking apart and they are small with old crap furniture, old crap AC that make big noise, pretty old and heavy used bathroom utilities.
- Odd timing for brakfast: 07:30-09:30. I'm traveling a lot, and in business hotels, breakfast is usually from 06:30 till 10:00 or 10:30 and in the weekend is till 11:00 so 09:30 here is pretty wrong as it is far to early in any scale. For All Inclusive there was an option to the Aquapark Restaurant where was kind of reduced breakfast from 09:30-11:00 but the variety was poor and full with peoples.
- Personel behavior in the Beach Bar was pretty odd, licking ice in front of women's, shooting with ice after girls and all of this in front of kids and that looked like those peoples need some treatment in some special hospitals. Going around, making massage to kids and mens and so on.
- Beach is rubbish. Sea is full of garbage so basically you need to walk towards est on the beach till the mountain where is a more usable beach to swim in the sea. This is not a fault of the hotel, it is just the way how the landscape is.
- Beds in the new rooms (8xx) are hard like a rock (like sleeping on the floor). I'm ok with it but not everybody is happy so be aware of that.
- You get only one key and electricity to be on need the key. Absolutely stupid. You can't leave you room to cool down even that you paid for AC, you can't sleep inside meanwhile your family members are outside because they need to wake you up each time when they need to come in. You can't leve for charging cameras, phones meanwhile you are out. Pretty annoying thing.

If you as me, I will not go there again but If you can get over the bad things then it is a nice place to have a holiday.
We had great time in the end once we went over the initial problems (old room was changed with a new room after complaining) but first days where pretty tense. Place is nice, peaceful, kids friendly so you can get a nice holiday there. Alanya city was cleaner than I was expecting it. Plenty of peoples in the shops that are speaking scandinavian languages, german, english so no problem with negotiations anyway price wise, most of the items where far more expensive then in Europe so really I did not get the idee of doing business there.

Room Tip: Ask in advance confirmation that you will get rooms from 8xx (starting with 8)

To start Turkey as a country is fine, but it's too hot in the summer for my taste ( usually over 40 degrees!!!). The rooms were pretty, but when we started to use them, we soon realized they were of very poor quality. We went halfbroad, and the first 2 days (we were there for a week) we all thought the food was rather appetizing, but as the days went on, we became at the end disguisted with the food, and searched desperatly for somewhere else to eat. However the thing that was, by far, the most irrritating with this hotel, was the fact that it only housed scandinavians. You were imprisoned in this village/hotel, with swedes, norwegians and danes staring at you. I don't want to offend any scandinavians, but that was how we felt. By the way, when you go abroad, you're supposed to meet NEW people. We made a mistake by coming to such an uniform hotel, and will never choose any charter/concept hotels anymore.
The beach was not so good, it was very small and was constituted of a big stone plate, filled up with sand (which had in great parts been taken away by the waves). It's really too dangerous for small children to play there. For older children, this beach could be rather amusing with the big waves. In fact, thank god there was the beach or else there would have been nothing to do. It was also perfect to stay on the beach sunbathing, as it was windy, and a little chiller than by the pools. Staying by the pools was incredibly hot, and I didn't understand how so many people could be tanning under the most dangerous sun, during midday, and in temperatures exceeding 40C. The only place we could survive the heat was by the beach. It is also important to say that the beach somewhat filthy, and that the strong waves brang both garbage and oil spills which stained our bathing suits. The water slides weren't amusing to the children of the ages of 10,12 and 15, who judged them to be too fast, and therefore dangerous. You could also only slide by yourself, which didn't make them particularly happy.
To conclude it's an okay hotel from every angle. It has its downfalls (heat, enclosure, bland food, slides), but also some positive points ( pleasant beach area). It isn't an 4 star hotel. For the price we've paid of about 3000 euros, for a week with breakfast and lunch, I wouldn't recommend it. It's perhaps better to choose a hotel that is smaller and not so filled with scandinavians, with maybe some other nationalities present. However, if you are still considering to book hotel Club Dem you should book the half broad, because even if did become booring, there was no where else to eat in the surroundings. It's simply easier and cheaper.
PS: Bare in mind they charge 50 euros for the air con.

Room Tip: There are two types of buildings, one is older and the other is newer. The older ones are the small...

The hotel is located direktly at the beach, but a bit far away from the local town, and app. 10 km. from Alanya.
The walt to the bus took about 15 minutes. So overall good location, but maybe with a shuttle to the bus station could be nice.

We came a bit out of season - maybe 2-3 weeks early, wich ment that the beach was closed ( the water was to cold anyway) But we could tell tht in season the beach was great. Just not suited for small children.

The food at the hotel was very good, espacially during dinner and lunch - breakfast a bit boring.

The service was excellent - they everything to make us happy!

The rooms are big and all with a big terrasse/balkon. We had a 2 room hotel room, for only me and my husband. The only down side was that it was near the hotel bazaar street, which had vending machines that made terrible noise. But the guy at the machines was very nice, and treated my niece and nephew so good !!

There were two pool areas, wich were very nice, and service by the pool!

The entertainment program was just a bit boring - but, then just go to Alanya - then you can have a great night out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the bazaar street (noise)

This is a nice hotel for families with small kids. The pools are great, nice staffs and everything you need is in a short distance. We got a large family room including som of the worst beds in history. It was like sleeping on the floor. This is something that must be fixed very soon.
