My partner & I have just returned from a 1 night stay at Allara Homestead. When we arrived we were greeted by our hosts Cheryl & Ian. They gave us a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable and welcome from the minute we arrived, to the time we left, we felt like long lost friends. We wished we had booked for at least another night but unfortunately we had other commitments.
Cheryl showed us to our room (vintage rose) which had a large deck off the room through french doors, with 2 chairs and small table. This was very nice to sit and read or relax overlooking the dams and gardens. The interior of the room was amazing, with so much attention to detail, starting with a little blackboard welcoming us with our names, home baked slice, quality selection of teas, coffees etc even a small jug of fresh milk in the fridge, complimentary port and chocolates, plus a small mini bar of soft drink, chocolate bars and chips which were very reasonably priced.
The room was decorated in a modern country style with a queen very comfortable bed, nice linen and selection of pillows, plush towels and open design ensuite. Our room had very good lighting for reading, with ceiling fan and great air con, which was quiet and efficient, as it was a very hot night. The peaceful surrounds and quiet were amazing as this was tucked away from the hussle and bussle of the tourist area but only a few minutes drive away to restaurants, craft shops, walks and waterfalls etc. There is a good sized flat screen television in the room, but we didn't even turn this on as it is such a lovely retreat in the country and just enjoyed the simple things in life.
As we arrived early afternoon we decided to order a cheese platter which was served to us on the verandah of the main home. We started chatting to Cheryl & Ian and we all sat together on the deck sharing the platter and a few nice wines watching the sun go down. A very pleasant afternoon was had by all.
After a big sleep in, we were served breakfast at the main home verandah. Wow!! The breakfast was great, home cooked fritattas, bubble & squeak, fruit salad and home made jams, cereal, toast, most things you could want, nothing was too much trouble.
After our afternoon with Cheryl & Ian we were told, Allara is a fairly new B&B and I think we were so lucky to stumble on this, we will be back.

We too felt like long lost friends within such a short time after your arrival and your wanting to share in a drink and our cheese platter made for a relaxing time with the sun going down.
Thanks again C & I
