My wife and I booked this B & B on the strength of the highly favourable reviews previously posted here as well as the details of the accommodation shown on the website. Having now experienced the hospitality provided by the hosts John and Sonya we are so pleased we did. We received a warm welcome and felt like old friends even though we had not met before.
It was a great experience and we fully appreciated the effort they made to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We firmly intend to stay with them again "you can't get enough of a good thing"!

My wife and I, along with her sister and husband stayed at Avocado Grove in July. This was the first time I had stayed in a B&B and I was wondering what the experience would be like. It was simply wonderful and it by far exceeded my expectations. There was absolutely nothing you could complain about. My wife and I arrived fairly late at about 8pm on a Friday night. We had expected to arrive earlier and had arranged to eat in and sample John's menu. Even at this late hour, John didn't mind at all. The meal was absolutely delicious. We stayed in the downstairs room with a fireplace which we put to great use as it was very cold at that time of the year, especially being so high up on the range. The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with a very comfy bed. We had breakfast the following morning on the verandah upstairs overlooking the old Avocado grove watching the bird life. Again John showed off his amazing skills in the kitchen and perfect service. My wife's sister and husband stayed with us the next night and had a room upstairs which they were very pleased with. John happily drove us all to Flaxton Gardens restaurant and picked us up again. John sets a very high benchmark for customer service and I have never, in all my years received better service than that which I received at Avocado Grove during our stay. I would highly recommend Avocado Grove.

Avocado Grove was all you could ask for. A beautiful place, John and Sonya were fantastic hosts and amazing cooks. The food was restaurant quality. We felt like we were treated like the royals. The room was extremely comfortable and the place was immaculately clean. We booked at very short notice and were made to feel so welcome. The surroundings are peaceful and relaxing and eating afternoon tea and brekky on the verandah was very pleasant. Great value for money and look forward to going again sometime.

We had a really hard time finding a place that allowed pets and were so fortunate that Avocado Grove had space for us. John and Sonya were superbly accommodating and even let us leave our pup on their shady veranda while we went for a walk in the rainforest. Having John bring us breakfast on our private veranda was a unique treat for simple folk like us.
