I travelled on my own to Belgium, and this was a first for me. I had never been to Brussels and Belgian friends had really downplayed its attractions. I think they would feel differently if they stayed at Zinneke. The owner, Geert, is friendly and helpful, and eager to share his knowledge of the city with you. The B&B is located on a quiet street just off the Simonis Metro stop. There's a lovely park nearby where you'll find people walking dogs, out for a run, or just enjoying the day.
The B&B itself is as described by others, immaculate. I stayed in Bobby's room, the room named for TinTin's clever little dog. It's huge, uncluttered, bright and airy. It even has a little balcony that overlooks the yard.
The breakfast is wonderful, Geert will make you eggs if you like, but you might find the croissants, bread, yogurt, fresh fruit and coffee or tea fill you up.
I loved it here, and felt very much at home. If you get out of the center of Brussels and find you are hungry, there are good little restaurants not far from the Metro stop, two of which seem like the places where the locals hang out to enjoy themselves.
And what was really cute was, at the end of my visit, Geert handed me a beanie-baby style dog...the tag even said ""Bobby". I carried him with me from Brugge to Oostende to Ghent, and will try to post the pictures so you can see Bobby's adventures in Belgium.
Loved this place, and would CERTAINLY head back here again. Totally comfortable and fun.
