“Walking distance to EU institutions, park in front of the hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

I have got the rooftop room at 8th floor (802) with balcony, overviewing the park. No noise from street, interior quite spacious of Best Western style. As it is the rooftop, it could be pretty warm during the summer. Hotel is situated 3 mins from Metro, in walking distance from main EU istitutions, on the direction to the the airport (20 mins by taxi, no need to crosss the city centre). Therefore it is good choice for shortterm stay when having any "EU business" in Brussels.

The house and its two first floors give an impression of a grand, old-style hotel. However the rooms in the upper floors are very avarage and typical "best western" rooms. Rooms in the upper floor are very narrow with basic interior. At least the noice from the street was not disturbing & bed was OK. Wall-to-wall carpets made the interior look a bit dirty. The rate I paid (178€) included a buffet breakfast which was an "ordinary" breakfast.
This is a good option especially if you know a city a bit cause it is easily reachable by using the public transport (advisable cause traffic in Brussels may cause you trouble): first by train to the Central Station and then by metro to the station "Merode" where 1 minute walk.
The park on the opposite offer you a nice jogging opportunity!

Spacious room, typical continental breakfast, good wireless network.

3 minutes close to Metro Station. Good place to stay for a weekend in Brussels

We slept there during the weekend at a room on street level. The room (n 17) is located right under the kitchen, so from 06.30 we were not able to sleep due to the constant sounds coming from the kitchen above us.

Our room had a depressing worn-out look and feel. It must be said, however, the beds itself are very good.

Breakfast is nothing to write home about. Also, the kitchen ran out of eggs (on a sunday morning breakfast)!

We contacted the staff afterwards via mail but only got a dull reply, let alone an apologise.

Though in the centre of Brussels, and close the EU- institutuions, the hotel is situated in a calm area, opposite of the Park. At the backside of the hotel a nice innergarden, which allows sleeping with open window:no streetnoise.
The breakfastbuffet is of good quality, good service from the staff. Rooms we cleanand all in all a good price-quality ratio.

I found the service at this hotel to be outstanding. The staff went out of their way for me, including posting back two jackets that I foolishly left in the wardrobe.
The hotel is perfectly located for the EU buildings, and is nice and close to the park.
My room was very clean and comfortably decorated.
Overall an excellent experience and I would fully recommend.

The hotel is located in a traditional building, close to a park and 5 minutes walking distance from the Metro station Merode. It is not located in the city center, but the metro line at Merode gets you there in 5 minutes. The atmosphere in the hotel is welcoming and friendly. The room was middlesized and clean. Breakfast is served in a nice old style room and includes pastries, scrambled eggs and fruits, i.e. an upgraded continental breakfast. Around the Metro station you'll find a selection of different restaurants. In summary I would review it as average to good, but compared to many other hotels in Brussels it is well above average.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor provide access to a nice garden with different seating areas.
