“Great hotel, good staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

We stayed here as part of our pre booked holiday package with a holiday company. After a long two day trip from the uk, we was greeted by Emilio, who had his staff on hand ready to help with peoples Luggage. We stayed in room 215, had a fantastic view of the lake and the pool (balcony), air con worked good. On one of the nights here , Emilio did a Water Melon party by the pool, during our stay if we needed anything Emilio was more than happy to help. The location itself is truly breath taking, there is also an old monastery on the mountain behind the hotel which is a must for a day out. food wise, it was good, breakfast was your normal European food. Evening meals was good, would recommend the pork dish. Will differently be making a return trip back to the hotel.

Room Tip: 215 was fantastic

We arrived early evening after a long hot journey for a 4 night stay as part of a coach tour. We were welcomed with a soft drink and allocated our rooms. We barely had time to have a shower before our evening meal but as soon as we put the air conditioning on there was a power cut which affected all the rooms. Eventually the electricity was restored but not the air con& Emilio the manager tried to blame someone in our group for using the wrong appliances. The air con was not restored until about 9.30pm despite it being hotter than average for July & Emilio constantly moaned about the cost of installing and running it! The power cuts were then repeated on each of the 4 nights we were there so the first evening was obviously not a "one off".There was no air con in the lounge and very little in the dining room. Several of our group ate elsewhere as a consequence. We were advised not to use the safe in our room as his insurance cover wasn't very high. The bar was only open at very limited times and you had to purchase a drinks card with all the drinks being priced in full euros. Emilio didn't seem very friendly after the first day and our group almost seemed like an inconvenience to him. There is very little to do in the surrounding area and it is about a 20 minute walk to the nearest decent lake front area.Would not recommend this hotel other than possibly as a stop en route to another destination.

Stayed here as part of coach holiday. Room overlooked the pool but had no balcony :( bathroom door didn't close, wardrobe with hardly any hangers and air con needed resetting regularly. No air con in bar or dining room and food of average standard. Nothing at all to do at resort so not ideal for a family unless you had a car. Luckily as I was on coach tour there were regular days out which were a godsend. Plenty of activity appears to be at other side of lake and nearest boat was 20 minute walk away which was well worth the walk. Pool was very small and water absolutely freezing. On a positive note staff were friendly and helpful and hotel set in lovely gardens.

As part of a coach trip, out of 41 people, only a handful said this hotel was ok. Three couples had to be moved from their rooms, our room had no chest of drawers (nor was there any room for one), just one large wardrobe with a drawer on the bottom. Bathroom was disgraceful, with a tiny shower tray surrounded by a plastic shower curtain that attacked you each time it was used, and the curtain was not clean. Everyones towels were only changed once in 7 days, totally unhygenic given the very hot weather we had in July. The meals were nothing short of awful, unless you liked pork escalope or chicken legs covered in some kind of sauce. If you got vegetables, there were no potatoes, and if you got potatoes there were no veg? The pasta starters were better than the main course choices. Breakfast was adequate, but it was obvious that only the cheapest of meats and juices etc. were used. It was situated at the very end of the town and only a few members of our coach could manage to walk into Moderna. Emilio ignored most of us apart from the occasional nod. We were apparently very lucky with our air conditioning as it was fairly new, but a lot of couples had noisy and old air conditioning and he made a point of telling us how expensive it was to run, so use it carefully!! One couple reported that their window shutters were jammed on first day, and they are still waiting for it to be fixed. No, this hotel certainly does not warrant its 3 star rating, it may have been good in its time, but sadly in need of serious upgrading.

Room Tip: There is an annexe that 2 couples in our group were moved to, and they seem to be a bit more modern.

Opinion need to be respected by everybody, that's why when fact are differents we do pointed up.
Mrs margareth was allocated into a room with balcony and lake wiew and as not all the guest of this party do has it, that's why some rooms have been changed as soon as possible. This just because we do not ignore any single request. Dinner the arrival night is always with a set menù just because we never knows if the coach is coming during the day or lateat night as we do not pre-cook. In Italy we do not use potatoes every day. About food we do not understand what she said because the all group leaving was thanking us so much. Air condition -systems is something that we do not charge extra, it could be
that Margaret was disappointed about pressing a button and do not leave the air on all day when she was out. Last 2012 whe had only 16200 gust from U.K and they steel now are coming back to us, it means that Margaret will be on the next coach ???'

Husband, i and around 30 work collegues stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. Our room was a fair size, clean and good size bed, mix and match furnture. No balcony, just a window to the side alley/road. Small tv which had no english station (for news etc). Our bathroom was better equiped than some of the other rooms. The breakfast had a good choice, evening meal not so good, choice of 2 starter and 2 main, not sure if they had a veggi option. The service was a bit rushed between course as soon as u had finished the starter u had the main thrust in front of u. Easy access to Lake Garda front around 5 mins away walking. The boss was very friendly and helpful. Bearing in mind it is a 3* hotel it was good value. With a little bit of work and updating i feel it could become a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for 1 in the annex as we heard they were nicer rooms, plue had a exercise bike on the balcony. t...
