“Excellent view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The beautiful view on lake Garda made up for all the trouble we had (getting lost through very narrow streets) in finding this hotel. Most of the staff were friendly. The fact that there were wo swimming pools both with jacuzzi in the main building didn't make them too crowded. Again, the swimming pool on the roof gave some stunning views. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the food. After one week the same menu was repeated. So, if you were staying longer than 1 week the food got a bit boring.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view on the lake.

We have just spent two weeks in this hotel. It was a very nice experience. We got a very warm welcome at the reception. After few minutes we got the best room(206) with a spectacular view over the lake. The hotel is situated 10 minutes driving from Toscolano,so you need to drive the car if you wish to experience something.Otherwise you can relax at one of the 3 pools, all with beautiful view.Food was ok.We found breakfast boring after few days but we were never hungry, especially bread was not of the best quality.
Lunch consisted typically of 2-3 types of pasta and a salat buffet. It was perfect for those who were hungry in the middle of the day.Drinks were served by helpful and smiling waiters/ waitresses. Generally, they do fantastic job, serving all these people every day. Greetings especially to Daniele and Michele.
Dinner consists of 3 courses you order a day before, from them menu. You can choose from two different starters and 3 main courses.dessert is the same for everybody. All food is served by waiters, you can, however self pick up some salads from the buffet. This concept gives you restaurant-like eating experience, but be prepare for waiting time between courses,it is not like huge buffet in many resorts. You can like it or not,it is a question of individual choice. All dinner tasted very well, well spiced and presented. We missed, however, some fresh vegetables, because the salatbuffet consist mainly of vegetables from cans.(except for tomatoes and lettuce).Waiters were always ready to help and bring some drinks, never problems, always smiling.Receptionists the same, all speak several different languages. There is alway a bar, open all day round where you can buy drinks and icecream, prices are like in all restaurants around.
The room was cleaned every day, towels changed too. Hotel is generally wery clean and well maintained. Internet connection is very very slow, but we didn't need to use it so often,we were on holidays.
To sum op, we had fantastic holidays,we will surely come to Garda Lake again, this hotel is good as a base to experience lake around. For us,if it had more vegetables and better breakfast (especially bread),it would be a five star experience.

The country-side hotel is located on the rocks right at the lake side. From the balconies you can (I didn't try...) throw stones into the lake. It offers spacious rooms with air condition (important during the summer). There are three lively (the hotel seems to be very popular among families with kids - a lot of Danes, Germans, Dutchmen and Belgians) pool areas - all with a depth of about 1 meter. Couples without kids will probably find the place too noisy and crowded during high-season.
The hotel offers full board and the dinner is amble, well-prepared and tasty (in particular we enjoyed rabbit served one of the nights). The restaurant area however is over-crowded and very noisy (what else to expect with all the small kids, you could argue, but to some extend it spoils the experience). The breakfast is... Italian... :-)
Twice during the week we stayed there, the bar area offers live music.
We didn't have much interaction with the staff, but only met friendliness.

Room Tip: I would strongly recommend that you spend a little extra and get rooms with lake view.
