“Great bargain for Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

If you don't mind staying slightly further out Sejours & Affaires is perfect for a bargain stay in Paris. It's a shame one of the reviewers below didn't try the breakfast - it's very good value for 8 euros, far more than a croissant and a bit of fruit.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and very quiet. Check out Le Carrefour down the road for a great lunch. Looking forward to the next stay.

Please do not be put off by the negative reviews!

We book this hotel for Valentines Weekend and had a fabulous time. Having never stayed at a 2* before, admittedly we were apprehensive however there was absolutely no need to be. Personally, I would rate it a 3*. It is a gorgeous hotel, very modern, spacious and clean - we were pleasantly surprised. The reception staff were more than helpful and it was very secure with a pass code needed to enter the hotel at night. The Breakfast was basic, yes but adequate. All in all, I must stress again how modern and clean this hotel is. Huge bonus for the price you pay!

We were fully aware that it wasn't in the centre of Paris and that did not prove to be a problem at all. Quick 10 minute walk to the nearest metro then a quick journey to the centre of Paris. Metro was cheap and cheerful - we used it every day to see Paris and even made a day trip to Disneyland Paris which was well within our reach. Malakoff itself was quiet but with plenty of shops/supermarkets near by to assist your hunger.

One tip I would give - ensure you know how to get to the hotel from the airport as we did not plan this (slipped our minds) and we forked out just over 60 euros for a taxi!

All in all, would definitely recommend this hotel. Lovely little place to stay whilst exploring a wonderful city.

This hotel is not just poor, it is unbelievably poor. Fair enough we paid next to nothing, but we weren’t prepared for hostel conditions!

First off, the location: 15 minute walk from the nearest metro station but it’ll take you a good hour to get into the centre of Paris as you need to change train about 4 times. Upon arrival, it was 10:30pm at night and freezing cold so we were looking forward to a nice hot bath and comfy bed. HA! We enter the hotel reception area to see a note explaining that reception closes at 10pm (what the f*** kind of hotel does that?) and that we were to use the automatic check in system that would distribute our card. Entered our booking reference into this machine, NO BOOKING FOUND. Entered the card I used to make the booking, NO BOOKING FOUND. After tearing our hair out for 15 minutes, and trying to call the Emergency phone number (which no one answered) we finally got our key and made our way to the room.

First impressions of room: no bath just a shower, tiny cramped room, bed was actually a sofa bed, room ridiculously stuffy and no air conditioning to rectify this, broken wardrobe that wouldn’t shut, tea/coffee left out but an empty water bottle had been re-filled with milk that was now warm due to not being left in the fridge. Not enough towels for 2 people, the room had obviously been set out for a single but how could we change this considering a bloody machine issued us with our room key?

When we woke up from the worst night’s sleep of our lives, decided to take a shower. Shower was COLD at 7am! My poor boyfriend then had to wash in the sink which had the most ridiculous lay out I had ever seen, every time you bent down to rinse your mouth out etc you smashed your head on the shelf that jutted out! We did get some free shampoo and shower gel which is one thing I guess.

We hadn’t pre-paid for breakfast so decided to check it out, 8 Euros for a croissant and bit of fruit? I don’t think so!

When we returned to the hotel that night, we requested a hair dryer from reception as we weren’t provided with one in the room. We also asked for the extra towels which were missing and fair play, we got them promptly. When checking out, we asked the receptionist if she had some change that we could use for the metro to which she replied; NO and went on ignoring us. How a hotel can have no change is beyond me, we think she was just being un-helpful.

Summary: don’t stay here. Pay a little extra for a 3 star hotel nearer the centre, this really was awful.

I love this hotel. On arrival we were given a room that had not been cleaned from the previous occupier. This was no trouble at all and we were immediately moved to another room by a very helpful (and apologetic!) receptionist. Once in the new room everything was fine. The bed was very comfortable and everything you needed for a pleasant stay was there. The breakfast was ok but was plentiful. The Metro is a 10 min walk taking you through the streets of a thriving district of Paris away from the crowds. Check out the local eateries, boulangeries and bars. All very friendly and even understood our poor French. A great find for a budget traveller. Will definately return.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my husband.Rooms are a bit small, though they were clean and a kitchen provided alongwith.
Its a bit away from the metro station and quite away from the centre of the city.
Good option otherwise.

For our first trip abroad I'm glad we chose this hotel in Malakoff. As its a mini apartment, we were able to save time and euros by buying breakie and snacks from the supermarket and cook the odd evening meal when we'd been out late. 5-10 minute walk to the metro got us to the centre of Paris really easily. Hotel was clean, modern, secure and quiet and the staff very friendly. Pas de probleme (that's French you know)
