“Great location in Bondi !!!!”

We did not have a room with special prices and as such we felt it was overpriced, however, we feel the main criteria is location location location. And Swiss has it. Walk out the front doors and you are on main street,and cross it to the beach.
Agree with previous reviews, re rooms a little tired, but they are really well set up and a good size. We had the Junior King suite, and there was a separate lounge room, which could be closed off to bedroom. Bathroom was well sized and had all the extras you need, soap, body lotions etc. small maintenance is required in some parts of the rooms, but did appear to be recently painted and redecorated. We were on 5th floor at back, and of course no view. Air conditioning worked well in our room, but friends room air cond was not up to scratch. We had plenty of lighting in rooms and also IN cupboards.

Staff at reception were very courteous and efficient, so don't know who previous reviewers dealt with. Walk to south Bondi, along path, to Icebergs club for a wonderful spot to sit, drink, eat, and enjoy fabulous view of the beach. We were the only Aussies there, as rest of patrons were all foreign visitors. Bistro open all afternoon, and 4 to 6 they have bar snacks for $8 to $10. There is a more up market restaurant, but we were more than happy with bistro.

For dinner we went to the Bondi Hotel (one block from Swiss) and this was so pleasant. Food was great and VERY reasonable.Friend had fettuccine marinara, and said it was best he has ever had!

Breakfast at Swiss is far TOO expensive, so we wandered over the road to surf club. There is a cafe on southern end, and they could not do enough for us. Service was first class as was food. They did not have omelettes on menu, and when I mentioned this to my husband, the waiter, jumped in saying, whatever you want we will make for you!. Great vege omelette, bacon and eggs ( huge meal) and 2 mugs os coffee, $34.00. Buffet breakfast at Swiss was $30 for one. No comparison. If you wanted continental $25, and if you wanted both, $35!!!! Buffet is always everything, including continental, but not here. SO BEWARE BEFORE ORDERING BREAKFAST. Just pop outside, and there are dozens of restaurants serving anything you can think of.
Overall, more than adequate rooms, great service, but overpriced. Location is first class.

Room Tip: Try and get ocean view, but not sure of price. But how much time do you spend in your room on Bondi...

This was my second visit to this hotel, this time without the family. Rooms very tired, the air cpn whined and I was not able to adjust the temperature. The TV reception was bad, no free wifi (surprising considering the room price), very slack tea & coffee selection, bathroom drains smelt and that went with the rotting door frame, light bulb out and hard pillows. (No pillow menu here). Positives? - fantastic location and large room. The encounters I did have with staff were not welcoming. Value for money? NO.

Room Tip: you have been warned by me and others.

Last weekend we stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View room for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We used a discount voucher ($149) and as Accor members, paid an extra $60 to upgrade to this room. The first room they gave us on the 3rd floor was at the end of the building next to a construction site with a view of the Bondi Pavillion. It was old, dated and dingy with a small old TV like my Nan used to have. We went downstairs and asked for an actual "ocean view" and explained it was a special occasion for us so we would like a nicer room. We were moved over to middle of the building and one floor up so at least we could see the ocean but the room was identical - like something out of the 70's. The king bed was hard with only 2 pillows and one spare in a drawer. To hire a movie to watch on the tiny old TV (with bad reception) will cost you $19. The marble bathroom however with the large bath and separate shower was lovely. Breakfast was pretty ordinary with limited food selections and no barista, just one of those push button coffee machines that runs out of milk. The reception/conceirge staff were friendly and apart from the view (if you get one) are the only good features this elderly hotel has going for it.

Room Tip: Pay for an ocean view on the 3rd or 4th floor in the middle of the building.

No full length mirror to check out how you are dressed.
No lighting in bedroom exept wall lights so very hard to see inside wardrobe to select
clothing at night.
Down lights in bathroom above mirror not a great way to light up so you can see your
makeup. A fluro make up alight obove mirror would be better.
Hated the musty smell of carpets in the hallways.
Shower & tiles need update. Water pressure terrible and hard to get constant temperature to shower properly.

We had an overnight stay recently and were surprised with the large size of the room, the spa bath, and a balcony with a sliding door so we could open it and enjoy the sound of the waves. Breakfast in the hotel was delicious and check-in and check-out was a breaaze. Would deifinitely go back for another stay.

A great alternative to a CBD hotel. While the hotel is showing it's age and is due for redeevopment the room was clean and tidy. Having booked as an Accor Advantage Plus member the rate was well below comparable properties in the area and B&Bs close by. The rate also included car parking, a saving of $20 per night.
