“Great little spot in the North”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Had lunch there recently, great wine list and comprehensive menu to suit most tastes. Food is fresh and diverse. Shared several entrees and the local Brunswick beer. Enjoyed!

“oh so good, thank you Phillipa and Crew”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Went to Albert Street for lunch, great service by Richard who was so attentive and interested in us and discussing our food choices. Drank a spicy and oh so good Bloody Mary, a must try refreshing start for a Sunday lunch, and then ate two sides that were both very generous and oh so yummy for a pescitarian. The ancient grain salad was inventive and delicious and the beans were consistant, had them last time and found it a generous and tasty dish. Then ate Phillipa's dessert called Mirka Moira and I left in dessert heaven. My partner had her lemon tart that has to be tasted to be believed. Pastry is light as air and the consistency of the custard was just superb and the zing perfectly made with Meyer lemons. Thank you Richard, thank you Phillipa, can't wait to come again!

“Food good buy certainly not value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

Having found ourselves in Brunswick at lunchtime we decided to try Albert St Food and Wine as first appearance seemed ok. We where meet be a small blonde front of house staff member who looked us up and down then ask " do you have a reservation"? OH!!! you don't!!!! i will just need to see if we can seat you !!!!!!! I need to set the scene here Brunswick was packed with people we walked into this very large eatery with heaps of staff and 2 tables with 1 couple at each of them and then 1 lady sitting at a large table at the back of the room waiting for her party. So with myself and grand daughter this business had 7 customers for lunch at 12.30 and numerous empty tables. We where then seated and waited around 15 min to place our order. Another waitress did approach us in the meantime and took drink orders she was very friendly and brought us some bread and basil butter to nibble on till mains arrived. We both ordered the Terrine with assorted salad leaves. The plates arrive the food was delicious and well presented but very small in serving. There was 8 small assorted salad leaves ( very pretty to the eye) and the dressing was amazing, Terrine was sliced thinly and 1 slice only on each plate with 2 small triangles of toast bread at $18.90 per plate this was not value in my opinion. Lucky it was only lunch as an hour after we where starving. The second waitress made sure our glasses where filled and plates taken away when we finished. She was very attentive. All in all the food was good but not enough of it, a shame as it was enjoyable.

“Good Food & Atmosphere”

Albert Street has good ambiance and this was also reflected in the service and food quality. We elected to share a number of plates and all were extremely good

“Should be #1”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

This place is amazing and one of the finer dining places in Brunswick. We only came for dessert, but looking forward to having dinner next time. We had a lemon tart (amazing), Opera (chocolate dish... Amazing) and the snickers dessert (worth raving about!)
I couldn't be happier with the service, we were happily accomodated despite how busy they were on a Friday night with a place at the bar. Eagerly anticipating returning to try more of the menu.
