I left The Firs earlier this week after a ten day stay. I had stayed several times before in the last three years, and my opinion is unchanged viz. Kirstie and Geoff run quite the best guesthouse that you could wish for. All elements of the rooms, service and meals are beyond reproach: everything is aimed at ensuring the guests' contentment. There is an aroma, or perhaps an ambience, on entering that confirms you have made the right choice, and this remains for the whole stay. I was staying during the Atholl Highlanders' big weekend of Castle Parade and then their Highland Games gathering,( Geoff is a Company Sergeant Major and was heavily involved on both days), yet guests' needs (including early morning cyclists') were still met as usual, a tribute to how hard both he and Kirstie strive to deliver. I have no hesitation in recommending The Firs, and will return for the September Horse Trials. Geoff and Kirstie have easily succeeded in becoming hoteliers first and friends to all guests foremost!
