“Great decision to stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

We've passed here so many times and never taken the time to visit. But so glad we did this time. Value for money was great, especially after visiting many off the road restaurant/cafes that are over charged.

The food was amazing. Great quality sausages which is a must being a butchers daughter.

everything is the restaurant is top quality and we had a great time wandering around the shops after we had eaten.

will definitely be stopping here again.

“Great stop off when heading to or from the Highlands”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Whether you want a full meal or a coffee and cake this is a great stop off point with the added value of a food hall and several halls with clothing and things for the house. It's not at all cheap but the quality is evident. The homemade soup is always a good bet and it comes with good quality chunks of bread but you may have to pay extra for enough butter to cover the bread!!
It does close quite early in the evening though, so anytime after 6pm you're unlikely to get fed- which I always think is a shame since in summer especially, it stays light till well after 10pm and it would be nice to be able to stop for an evening meal.

“Just always such a pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Consider the business proposal, miles from anywhere, not another house for miles yet alone a reasonable town, and you could and would never believe it would work but House of Bruar is totally unique in every way and just such a pleasure to visit always. ‘Harrods of The North’ indeed.

Consistently high standard in restaurant and stores with offer and service of an exceptionally high standard and so many excellent touches to ensuring customer satisfaction is well above expectation.

Regular staff so knowledgeable and willing to assist too.

Just such a pleasure and well worth a visit or detour always.

“Enjoyable meals at house of Bruar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Don't know how the restaurant at House of Bruar copes with all the numbers which descend on it but it does so very successfully. The food is consistently of a high quality and ,for the amount given , is very reasonably priced. There is a choice of hot food , cold food, cakes , sandwiches, scones, drinks, all well presented and served by an efficient staff. The retail centre to which it is attached always has a plentiful supply of foods to buy ,although they are pricier than other outlets . However, I have consistently questioned the displays of bread which are displayed, uncovered and mainly unwrapped ,too near the shoppers' aisles where people brush past the displays .I have mentioned this problem many times over the years and have always been told that '' something is going to be done about it ''. Watch this space !

“Good But Expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

The food is good and the restaurant reasonably pleasant. It can be very busy as it is attached to a huge high end retail centre. Nicely placed halfway between the central belt and Inverness. I think it is a little on the dear side for what you get.
