I have been going to this area for 12 years and for the last 6 or so have gone canoeing at least once a year. You can't go with super young kids but it's great from when they are 5 or 6 or just as good with just adults. I have always gone with Canoe Rapido as we have never had anything but an excellent time. Call them up and book your choice of canoes, go and pay in the village of St Guilhem and then drive 5km up the road (they explain everything at the time) to get to the canoes. There are 2 descents. You can either be driven by them on a bus 12 km up stream and canoe back, or you can do the 'petit parcours' which is where you set off and go as far as you like upstream (depending on your fitness and children) and then come back again. Both are brilliant - we tend to do the smaller one as our kids just love to stop, park up, play, swim and have a picnic and so we don't tend to get very far! Oh yes, and there's a river cafe which is hilarious - you sit having a glass of rose or a diet coke on chairs in the river. It's good value and the people are really nice; the boats are good quality and all in all I couldn't recommend them highly enough!
