After doing a 7 mile hike up roseberry topping i was really looking forward to some fish, chips and peas from this, what looked like a lovely busy little fish and chip shop. On entering a very friendly chap (which i presumed was the manager/owner) was greeting everyone who came in and even using locals and regulars first names and asking if they wanted any fish, so far so good and i ordered a cod! However once getting to the front of the queue things changed slightly as i was met by a lady that looked like she was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders and when asked for something it was a real chore to do and didn't once smile! I tried to ignore this as the guy was so lovely and I took my wrapped fish, chips and peas and sat on the lovely green across the way! On opening my food i noticed the fish was an unusual shape not like any fish i'd had from a chippy before more like from the frozen section of a supermarket, a little on the square side!! On tasting the fish it didn't taste like the cod i ordered! The chips were simply adequate and the peas a little bland! Quite a shame coz we visit this area quite alot with friends and family who all enjoy a good fish and chips and a service with a smile!!
