My family and I recently spent 9 days at the Infinity Bay and had an absolute great time. We did lots of homework before choosing where we would stay and it really paid off. The property is super nice and a good value.
Arrival: We flew in on United from Houston. Nice flight and arriving in Roatan was painless. Don't get impatient upon arrival, when we arrived there were two customs agents checking passports for our full flight, so getting through this process took maybe 15 minutes. An agent from Infinity was standing in the arrival area with a sign for the resort. He gathered up all our bags and directed us to an area to wait until all the guest had processed through customs. From our arrival time until we were on the bus heading to the resort was maybe 1 hour. There is a bar in the arrival hall so get a cold beverage and get ready to enjoy your stay. Another option is to secure your own taxi and arrive ahead of the crowd. We didn't do this but it was an option. Checking in at Infinity was painless, if you have never been to this part of the world you may think everyone is moving in slow motion but relax you will get taken care of, remember they live there you are visiting.
Room: We stayed in Room 705, which is a second floor garden view room situated just to the rear of the pool area. 705 is a great room, two nice sized bedrooms, two bath, full kitchen and living room. This room had a balcony off the front that provided good views of pool and if I leaned out over the rail I could see the ocean. There is also a balcony off the master bedroom which was nice to hang wet swim suits, towels and dive gear. The queen size beds were really comfortable the AC worked great and compared to many of rooms we have stayed on other islands this place was a palace! Maid service is available and our room was cleaned by 3 pm everyday. We did have a couple of issues with towels, the maid didn't leave towels in the master bath once so we were able to track her down and let her know what had happened but we were not sure she understood our issue, so we went to the front desk. Our towels were delivered around 10 pm that night. Not optimal but we didn't stress over it.
Beach: The beach is amazing and the water is always inviting. The resort has beach chairs, tables and umbrellas. We never had an issue getting a place to sit and we spent lots of time enjoying the sun, shade and sights. Prepare yourself for the beach vendors, they are there and they will ask you many many times if you want a massage, buy a necklace, go parasailing, fishing or island tours. Remember they are trying to make a living so developing some level of rapport with these friendly vendors will go a long way. I am not kidding on one day I had the same lady ask me if I wanted a massage at least 10 times. Finally I reminded her she had already asked me multiple times and she stopped asking. One evening while I was at the bar getting a drink my teenage daughter was swarmed by 3 or 4 massage vendors one of them who was fairly aggressive. When I returned I ask my daughter if she had asked for a massage and she said "No" that they had just swarmed her and said it was "No Problem" and began to just give her a massage. I was polite as I could be with the aggressive one and simply handed her a $5 dollar bill and told her thanks and that she should move on. She didn't like the light payment and asked for more at which time I kindly told her to beat it. The next day a similar situation happened when a young girl apparently had her hair braided by a vendor without her parents approval. The ever present beach security guard and beach police had a very direct conversation with the vendor and the situation was resolved. I think the resort must have made some changes after that event as the next day the massage ladies were pushed to the fringe of the resort beach boundary and were not as visible. Bottom line, expect to be asked for services while you are on the beach. The vast majority of these vendors are harmless, polite and honest. Don't be intimidated by these folks, I actually enjoyed talking with them once they understood I was not going to purchase their wares. BRING YOUR OWN Beach Towels!!! Not sure what the issue is with beach towels at this resort and I would actually consider this my biggest complaint. For a quality resort to fail so badly at maintaining an adequate level of beach towels was a little baffling. Mind you the occupancy of the resort during our stay was maybe 50% yet we went for two to three days at a time without being able to get beach towels. Not sure if this issue stems from a laundry capacity issue or task management problem but it was a bit of let down from my perspective.
Food: The Palapa bar has good food and drinks. The wait staff is awesome, friendly and responsive. A super nice young man named Dishon took fine care of us while at the resort and Siggy was always ready to help at the bar! No complaints here. Plenty of other options are available for food. We didn't do the all inclusive plan so we were able to eat at plenty of the other restaurants in the area. Celeste's has really good and cheap breakfast as well as Bananarama. We ate at both several times. Mangiamo doubles as the market and diner in West Bay. They have all the basics food and drink items, a bit expensive but it s convenient. They also have really good food to order. We had great pizza at Java Vine and iL Pamodora has 2 for 1 pizza on Monday nights. All fairly priced. Another good place to check out is the Argentina Grill and Gio's in Flowers Bay. We did eat at the Resorts Breakfast Buffet once when we had an early morning excursion. They have a great selection and the service was great as usual.
Diving: Diving in Roatan is beyond awesome!!! We dove with Infinity Divers at the resort. Guja and her crew made our dive experience truly amazing. Infinity Divers has the largest dive boat in west bay, with a swim deck and ladders that makes getting into and out of the water quick and safe. Our divemaster was Lindy and Jessica. They both did a great job, providing a clear pre-dive brief explaining the type of dive, anticipated maximum depth and known hazards. Lindy has great eyes underwater and was frequently pointing out all types of critters. The convenience of short boat rides, full valet dive services and having the dock right in front of the resort made for a great experience. Don't miss the night dive! They do it right off the beach in front of the resort and was by far the best night dive I had ever experienced. If you don't dive the Snorkeling is amazing as well!
Activities: Outside of diving we also did one of the Zip lines, Banana boat rides and water taxi to West End. We were approached by a super nice gentleman on the beach by the Name of Arnold. He offered a discounted price on a Zip line and an ad hoc island tour. For the less adventurous entering into a deal with a guy on the beach may seem intimidating but our experience was great. Arnold is very honest and provided us with a view and island experience that we would not have had otherwise. We went to the Jungle Top Zip line and had a blast. We were the only group on the course that morning and our guides were great. They encourage you to do tricks like the Superman, Flips and hang upside down. Really a great time and we paid $35 a person. Arnold also took us to a local establishment for breakfast where we had Baliades that were really yummy. Later in the week Arnold also took us to Gio's in Flowers Bay for dinner. The food and knowledge of our local guide was great.
Finally: BANANA DOUNUT!!! The Banana Doughnut guy was on the beach daily. Getting the opportunity to try these world famous doughnuts was another highlight of the trip. Not sure they were the best doughnuts that I have every had but they are good. He also sells "Big Mama Burgers!" His wife makes all the food and is a great cook. We had Big Mama Burgers for lunch one day and they were delicious! We placed our order the day before and "Milton" delivered them to us on the beach the next day.
Overall our trip was amazing!! We will definitely go back.

The entire staff is thrilled that you and your family had a great time visiting Infinity Bay...it was our pleasure to have hosted you!
We are working closely with the municipality to enforce the local codes on beach vendors which can be intrusive from to time....but we are making progress.
Dishon was very happy to see you mentioned him as one of the great servers that took great care of you. The towel problem has been resolved and we can't thank you enough for all your positive feedback!
We will look forward to your return!
