“YOU WILL LOVE IT AND WILL WANT TO COME BACK!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

This is a very special property on a fantastic beach. The food is delicious and the staff are always smiling and want to make sure that you are enjoying your vacation

Both the sea and pool are amazing places to get great sunset views at the end of a fantastic snorkelling or diving day.

La Palapa bar on the beach is the after dinner gathering spot but look out for the local bugs if you are taking in the live music nights!

We feel fortunate that we had the chance to visit Infinity Bay April 15-22 and highly recommend it to our friends and family.

There are so many more interesting details about this amazing place... just go and have your own experience!

Room Tip: higher floors are better since you are not on the main walkway

Dear Muvver,

Thank you so much for recognizing how special Roatan is and the amazing reef right in front of the resort. Sounds like you weren't ready to leave so we will be holding a spot for your return!

Stayed at this resort the week of April 15th. We didn't really know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Our first view of our one room villa left us in awe. We really were pleased with the amount of space we had and the amenities within the villa. While we knew that there would be a fully equipped kitchen, there were other things that we did not expect such as water and ice in the fridge door. A small thing perhaps, but when the temps are so warm, it came in really handy. I also loved having the ability to have coffee in the room when we first wake up. Satellite TV, thumbs up. Wonderful bed, very comfy, quality linens. Another thumb up. Lots of closet room, no fighting over who gets the hangers. Spacious bathroom, would give another thumbs up, but ran out of thumbs.

We changed into our bathing suits and headed for the beach. We expected the snorkeling to be great based on other reviews but what we saw took our breath away. The health and cleanliness of the coral reef was spectacular. We have been to other snorkeling resorts where the garbage simply floats in the water, and what doesn't float, sits on the bottom, disgusting. There is a wonderful assortment of fish here, complete with nurseries. The coral reef wall about 250 - 300' from shore is something not to be missed. The water is warm which allows snorkeling to go on until your fingers shrivel. For those who do not wish to snorkel this far out into the Caribbean Sea, there is plenty to see closer to shore. No need for snorkeling excursions, save your money for a wonderful lobster dinner at one of the many beach restaurants to the right of the resort. Spend some money at one of the local vendors on the beach, all friendly and eager for your business.

After spending the afternoon snorkeling, we were treated to a wonderful dinner in the buffet. There is not a big selection of different foods, but each dish was prepared with taste in mind. The repast was thoroughly enjoyed. Decent Chilean wines are served with dinner. Joswe (sp?) I would gladly take lessons from you.

The staff were all friendly and courteous, as well as humorous and it was obvious that they enjoyed their jobs. Cruise ship snorkelers, oh they were there, but they weren't in our way and they were gone by 3.00 p.m.

We went to bed at night thinking that we were lucky enough to repeat daily for 7 days.

My hubby, myself and two girls (aged 14 and 11), just spent a week at this resort April 8-15th. and we had an incredible time, pool awesome, entire resort was clean, rooms and beds comfy and food was great. People very nice. We made many nice friends, Debbie and John, Lorrie with two rr's and Steven, Robert and Shelly, Charles and Justin, and their lovely wives, Donna and Clare, our young friends Max, Thalen, Sam, Will and Maddie, to name but a few.
Now this is the place to go for snorkelling and diving. The resort is on the beach and you can do both right from there. Dive shop is there too. Crystal clear waters, lots of colorful fish, beautiful beach, white sand and lots of restaurants on the beach. "Bite by the Beach" restaurant was alot of fun, watch them feed the huge moray eels that live amongst the coral in front of rest. and many more fine rests. Needless to say, we will be going back, beautiful place, lots to do, shopping short boat taxi away. Do the Dune buggy trip and the interaction with Dolphins- you get to swim among them. truly best interaction I've had with Dolphins. Make sure you see Avi-he is the resort rep. He'll set you up. Great memories!!!! Thank You Infinity Bay!!!!
Just hope the spa and fitness centre are open next year.
Make sure you take a waterproof camera.

Room Tip: Our room was 1706 and it was great, very quiet when we needed to sleep. Don't think you can go...

Spent the week of April 15th at infinity bay resort. This is probably our 12th visit to west bay in Roatan. We have stayed everywhere on west bay and this is the best one yet. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. It probably has the nicest pool on west bay, with a swim up bar. The food there is for sure the best we have had on west bay our compliments to the chef!!!!! The staff is friendly and make you feel we'll taken care of. I really can't find one thing to complain about and would highly recommend this resort !!! Great bar service and great staff at bar, siggy and shandi. They have a very good dive shop on site!!!! Will be returning next January and infinity will definitely be our first choice!!!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

We travelled to Roatan in early April. We had researched the destination and the resort fairly extensively so knew what to expect. We expected a very comfortable condo and excellent snorkeling and that's what we got.

Resort and Service - The resort itself is in good condition and maintained well. The Lobby building is still under construction with the lobby on the first floor, buffet restaurant on the second floor and the third floor unfinished. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping is done twice a week, which wasn't a problem. Once, the cleaning staff forgot to leave toilet paper, but we had the option of phoning to the front desk and having some delivered, so not a problem. Balconies were not always cleaned each time. The first 5 days we were there, there were large groups of Honduran teenagers from the mainland - up to 12 in a room. Next door to us was a group of girls who were very loud, partying on the balcony the entire day, with loud music, yelling and singing. Many guests complained about them, but the resort didn't seem to do anything about it until there was a wedding on the pool deck and it was obvious the girls had been spoken to. During the day, this was less of an issue, however we couldn't use our balcony when they were out there because of the noise. We noticed large and numerous bottles of liquor and water pipes on their balconies. It would be nice if the resort took a bit of ownership on this and forced them to tone down a bit. We were told this happens every year. My suggestion would be to find out when senior break is in Honduras and avoid the resort at that time. After the kids left, the resort was quiet and peaceful.

Pool - very nice pool. Also very shallow. But clean and roomy enough that we never felt crowded. Never a problem finding sun or shade loungers at the pool.

Beach - the actual beach area is not very long and the loungers are crammed in there tighter than sardines in a can. You couldn't even slide a piece of paper between the loungers. As a result, when you lay on the loungers, you were either laying elbow to elbow with someone you didn't know, or people just avoided the loungers or moved them around - but there wasn't much room to move them. We ended up stacking the loungers at the end, just so that we'd have enough room to get in and out of them. The beach itself is beautiful, albeit a little busy on cruise ship days. Cruise ships arrive usually Tues through Thurs, and sometimes up to three a day with each cruise dumping 60-300 people on the adjacent beach. This wasn't a problem in terms of lounger usage (IB charges $25 a day to use their loungers if you are not staying at the hotel) or activity on the beach, but it definitely impacted the snorkeling. Anywhere from 8:30-4pm there could be up to 10 groups of 8-10 people out snorkeling. We did notice the cruise snorkelers were always with a guide, which was good. And when cruise ships were in, the reef was protected by a group of men in kayaks, who both watched out for the reef and acted as rescue boats if anyone was in distress. So, on cruise ship days we made sure to get in at least one early snorkel before the crowds arrived. There were numerous vendors on the beach. We got used to it. They were selling anything from trinkets to food to tours and boat rides. There is a fellow who sells banana donuts every day. He tells everyone his wife makes them but one of the locals told us he actually buys them from a bakery. He charges $2 and we didn't find they were worth it. There are also guys who sell empanadas from foil-lined coolers. Others told us they were good, but we never tried them.

Food - flying from Western Canada, we weren't on the all-inclusive plan and opted not to purchase the AI plan from the resort. We were VERY glad we hadn't because we had excellent food down the beach at the various restaurants. Because of raving reviews of the seafood buffet on Friday nights, we decided to try it. I was extremely disappointed in the buffet. There was nothing I wanted seconds of. The fish was dry as a bone, kalamari coating was hard and everything else was just so-so. That buffet cost us $24 + tax and a mandatory tip was added, bringing the bill to $29. And one of our group ordered ginger ale after we were told the fountain drinks were included, but the ginger ale was from the bar, so she was charged $2 for the glass and $2 for a refill. In comparison, we were able to walk down the beach and have a 3-lobster tail dinner for $16. All the restaurants have specials on different nights, so we'd just check into who had what and go there for the specials. One of our favourite restaurants was the Argentinian Grill, but they are closed on Mondays. We went to Beachers for the lobster tail special and it was good. On a return visit for the special the following week, disaster. We waited an hour and a half for food, and only got the food when we threatened to finally leave. We were given at least two different stories on why the food was taking so long, but in reality I believe that a large group of about 18 diners overwhelmed them. It would have been nice to just be told the truth instead of them trying to put the blame on what we ordered. As well, the staff were yelling at each other which wasn't pleasant. Other diners were upset as well, so it made for a tense dining experience. Thirsty Turtle has a rib special on Saturdays that was really good. They also had the best coconut shrimp on the beach. Fosters was only so-so and service there was lukewarm. We ordered their famous key lime pie. It was good, but nothing special. Service was slow everywhere. On holidays we're not in too much of a rush, but it can be difficult getting your menus and then your checks. Generally if we called the waiter over and asked, we got them fairly quickly.

Island Tour - you can arrange an island tour through just about anyone, just ask around. We paid $100 for a van to take 3 of us around the island. While there isn't a huge amount to see, it was worth it to see the villages and the other end of the island. We also asked our guide to stop at the Eldon's in Coxen Hole for us to pick up some breakfast foods. Eldon's was more than expected as we saw items there (imports) that we can't even get back home. Things were a bit pricey, but they have to bring them in from a distance away, and everything is available. The day we did the island tour it was very smoky. Nobody seemed to know why, but we were told that April is sort of a burning month where people burn the palm fronds, etc, after Easter. So if you are asthmatic, this may be a small concern.

Condo room - we rented a 2 bdr unit directly from the owner. The condo is more than comfortable. Mattresses and furniture were in excellent shape. The master bedroom had a king sized bed and the second bedroom had a queen. There was a large table with 4 chairs on the main balcony and on the balcony off the master bedroom a small side table with 2 chairs. The living room had a pull out sofa, a loveseat, coffee table, side table and TV with DVD player. Dining room had a beautiful round table and 4 chairs. The full-sized kitchen was nicer than many of our kitchens at home, with stainless appliances - fridge (with water dispenser and ice maker in door), glass top stove, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishwasher and garburator. The kitchen also had a high bar area with 3 tall stools. Each of the bedrooms has a closet, a large dresser (8 drawers and a cupboard with 2 shelves), 2 nightstands (each with a drawer and a cupboard). As well, there are two full bathrooms (one in the master ensuite) with walk in showers. The bathroom cupboards also have lots of drawer space with 6 drawers. Hair dryer is provided. Ironing board and iron are provided as well as one luggage rack. Laundry closet (W/D) is available for an extra fee. Coffee is provided and you can ask for more. The coffee is good, but you have to take it out of the bag and put it into a filter or its too weak. We ended up just buying a package at the store to use for the duration. There is lots of lighting in the condo, but none of it is very bright. The living room and bedrooms also have ceiling fans as does the main balcony. We loved having breakfast and coffee on the balcony each morning.

Snorkeling - a dream destination for the avid snorkeler, which we are. Lots of area to snorkel and lots to see. Generally we found that everyone was well-behaved on the reef. We did however see a few people feeding the fish (an absolute no-no, and not necessary at all) and did see a few people standing on the reef (another absolute no-no as you are killing the coral). But for the most part people were respectful of the "reef rules". It was nice to see that cruise ship people were given some instruction and were with a guide at all times. We saw most of our usual critters - barracuda, french angelfish, chubs, grunts, rays, squid, etc. We also saw fish we don't see that often - queen angelfish, spotted drums. While we were there, we however did not see any morays or octopus, and only one porcupine fish.

In summary, this is a really, really nice and comfortable resort. The location is, in my opinion, the best on West Bay. It's on the quieter end of West Bay Beach and has the best, maybe the only snorkeling along the beach. Other areas were crowded with boats, and we saw most of the people from other resorts walking down to our end with their snorkel gear. We literally stood up from our loungers and walked a few steps to the water and were out snorkeling. It does not get better than that!

Dest Snorkelgeek,

We greatly appreciate the time you took to craft such a detailed snapshot of your experience. It was quite helpful for us and all of our future visitors.

When renting directly from an owner which is always an option - housekeeping is provided every three days. If you book directly through the resort you will receive daily housekeeping and now the breakfast buffet will be included as well.

During that week which has some spring break overflow in our direction which we try to discourage in effort to keep the resort as peaceful and family friendly as possible. We did have extra staff and security in effort to control the extra volume - really do appreciate your suggestions in this area.

The fountain drinks are included with the buffet so we research this and make sure it dose not happen again.

Your entire review will be addressed at our next staff meeting to ensure your comments are addressed in a timely manner.

Thank you again for your very nice and helpful review.

We were pleasantly surprised by this resort. The suites are impeccably furnished, the grounds are immaculate and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pool was a beautiful oasis to cool off in or just swim up to the pool side bar. The restaurant, although a buffet, had daily selections of fabulously prepared foods. Better to have fewer choices but higher quality foods, seems to be their philosophy. We were never disappointed, and would go back in a flash. The dive shop is very professionally run, staffed with experienced dive masters who go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your diving experience. Sarah and Dale were great!
