“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

We have been to Roatan several times and like to stay at different properties. Infinity Bay is relatively new and continues to grow. Overall it was a great stay. There were a few issues with the food at the Palapa Bar, mostly the temperature. The buffet was great, had good variety and a different theme every night.
The rooms were excellent, had plenty of room, all the amenities and a great view.
Infinity Bay has a fantastic beach, is within walking distance to several beach bars and stores and a short water taxi ride and $4 will get you to West End where there is more shops, bars and restaurants.
We will definitely put Infinity Bay on the to do again list.

We recently spent 8 days at the Infiniti Bay Resort. The location could not be better as it was walking distance to the dive shop and restaurants. The beach was very nice directly in front of the hotel, but one needed to get there early to "reserve" a chaise lounge. It is a new resort so it is still in good shape.

We "misunderstood" when booking the room as it was a studio at a very attractive price. However, it looked out onto a brick wall and there were no chairs to sit on in the condo, only the bed. It made relaxing in the room almost impossible. The beach and the chairs around the pool helped but it still was difficult to be really comfortable. BTW. The wi-fi did not work in these type of rooms and we had to go to the hotel lobby for internet connections.

We would return but definitely get a 1 - 2 bedroom facility.

Room Tip: Do not choose the studio

We stayed here for the first week of March. It was our first time in Roatan. The beach and the snorkeling are just amazing. The room we had was excellent and so comfortable, we felt like in our own condo by the beach. The whole resort is extremely clean and the location is the best in this area for sure. What we found truly remarkable at Infinity Bay is the top quality and attitude of the whole staff, from the front desk, to the buffet, the Palapa on the beach, security guards, management. Everyone is always so helpful, smiling and friendly, making sure that you are having a good time at the resort. All in all it is a really nice place to relax, discover the island, or dive.. dive.. dive.. like we did. "Infinity Divers" with Guja and her team, are also all awesome, friendly and competent. We hope to come back one day at Infinity but for a longer stay this time. Special thanks to Rick Kolinsky, the manager, with his help in resolving an issue that was dealt with very professionally.

Room Tip: We had a great room on the ground floor, right in front of pool and a short walk to the dive shop. C...

Spent a week in March at Infinity Bay with my family.
* Location is perfect on the island. One of the best beaches. Nearest towns are only reachable by car (unless you are ok with a 2-3 hour walk on dangerous roads).
* Accommodations are clean and spacious
* Staff is friendly
* Food at the buffet is not as varied as other resorts but every single dish is made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.
* Pool is beautiful, clean and perfectly maintained
* Grounds are manicured and spectacular
* Beach has fine white sand and multi-toned, clear blue water. Makes it all picture perfect.
* Beach and pool chairs are in very short supply. So are beach towels.
* Pool restaurant food is below average.
* Drinks are seriously watered down at the pool/outdoor bar.
* Pool/outdoor staff is nice but very slow
Definitely a place I would recommend and go back to.

Quick and friendly check-in with no hassle and all we had asked for at booking.

This resort is located on one of the best beaches of the island. You can snorkel right off the beach or walk 5 min. to the rocky point. Snorkeling 10 meters out is akin to swimming in an aquarium teaming with rainbow colored tropical fish. Coral bed is not completely dead yet so one can still see some live coral close to the shore.
There are also many diving operations on the beach that will take you out for a dive or the entire day. There are dozens of diving sites less than 30 min. boat ride away.
Aside from the various corals and dozens of varieties of tropical fish you can see rays, eels (many look very much like sea snakes), sea turtles, barracudas, lobsters and the occasional sharks. There are stinging hydroids (or sea ferns) in the water. The burn is similar to a jellyfish one. Some people may get a systemic reaction to them. If you wear a wet suit or stay away from the general areas where they grow you'll be fine. In general if you are going to snorkel frequently or dive without a protective suit make sure you can recognize the dangerous underwater fauna and flora so you can stay away from them. Also, you should have medications in your first aid kit to deal with the bites, burns, rashes and mild poisoning you may encounter during your snorkelling or diving adventures. Most resorts will have some of these on hand as well.
Unless you don't mind staying at the resort most of the time during your stay renting a car is useful. Coxen Hole is about 20-25 min. drive away and West End (small town) is a 15-20 min. drive away. Taxis are not cheap but reasonably priced during the day. After 6pm rates are not set. There taxis in the resort parking lot most of the time. Roads are full of potholes, narrow, two-way and sinuous. Indications, when there are any, are confusing at best. However, the island is not that big so you will always find your way back eventually. Traffic signs are rare. The largest vehicle is the one with the right of way. Hence renting a SUV offers less stressful driving.
We rented our SUV from Avis and got it at the airport. Retrieving and giving the car back was fast and easy. The staff was very pleasant.

Asked for and got a 2 bedroom suite. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen, dining/living area where there is a large screen tv and a hide a bed. Each room has it's own very large balcony (one with the grounds/pool/beach view and one with the garden view) and bathroom. Bathrooms have showers only and excruciatingly weak water flow. Floors are tiled everywhere. Windows and patio doors all have screens. Mattresses are memory foam and pillows very thin. I found the combination very uncomfortable. AC is centrally controlled and worked perfectly.
Rooms are located in individual towers. The lower the number of the tower, the closer to the beach. The higher the number, the closer it is to reception building and dining hall. One bedroom suites are on the lower levels and multi-bedroom ones on the higher level of the 4-story towers. The rooms closer to the beach are also closer to the pool area where the entertainment is at night.
Rooms are all made of concrete so they are completely sound proof aside from the window openings. We had neighbors all around us, many of them families with young children. We didn't hear a single sound coming from the other rooms the entire week. We did however get woken up early (around 6 am) every morning (back facing room) by the birds and the staff talking loudly to one another.
Every single member of the staff we interacted with during our stay was pleasant, courteous and helpful. The reception/dining room staff is excellent. The room cleaning staff is nice but will do a minimum of work. Whenever we asked for extra towels we got them immediately. The outdoor staff (bar, restaurant, towel) are much less efficient. We only got to change our beach towels once during our stay. It took 2 days before we even got some. They open the towel hut at irregular times each day and only have a couple of dozens of clean towels. When they run out it seems they don't get more till the next day.

Food & drinks
We selected the all-inclusive package that included all meals. There are however many (about 8-10) restaurants either down the road or on the beach to select from.
The food at the resort buffet is excellent. Breakfast buffets offer a complete selection including a egg/waffle/pancake bar where you can get them any way you like. Coffee is horrible at best however. Lunch buffets have a limited selection of very tasty dishes. Buffets have different themes each night and vary all dishes except the salad and desert bar. Ingredients are fresh and very well prepared. You always have a selection of 2 or 3 kinds of meat and fish. They refill the serving trays constantly and when we were there none of the dishes ever ran out for more than a couple of minutes.
We only went once to the pool/beach outdoor restaurant. The food was not as good as the buffet. The service was very slow given the waiters need to go get the food all the way in the main building area (a 8-10 min. walk back and forth).
The bar at the main restaurant (buffet) serves very decent drinks. The one at the pool/beach area offers very watered-down drinks. They also will serve alcoholic beverages to children if virgin is not specified when the children themselves are ordering.
There are 3 restaurants just down the road of the resort (5-10 min. walk). One is a sushi restaurant, and the others are local cuisine ones. Two are open at night and one during the day. There are also many restaurants from the other hotels and resorts on the beach. Food at the hotel was so delicious that we never got around to trying them.

All are very well maintained and spectacularly beautiful. There is a shortage of chairs both at the pool and the beach so one needs to get up very early to go reserve chairs. During our stay the resort was mostly full and all chairs, both on the beach and at the pool, were occupied by 9am.
The West Bay beach is about 2 km long. On the days when cruise ships are in the ports (they can dump up to 15 000 passengers on the island per day) the beach is very crowded. The cruise ship lines have a few spots on the beach with chairs reserved for their passengers that they bring in by bus in the morning. Otherwise the beach is quiet in the early mornings and late afternoons. There are many souvenir huts and roaming sellers of souvenirs and services on the beach. They are discreet and don't hassle you. The water close to the resort is calm but there is a lot of sea life (corals, rocks, plants, fish, crabs, etc.). Hence there is always something brushing up against you or to step on. As mentioned previously it makes for perfect snorkeling condition. The island is located right next to the second largest coral reef in the world after all. Unfortunately, you can see the damage already done and one can't help but think that this little piece of paradise may not be that way for very long still. Government, resort and business owners should really take an active interest in protecting the coral reef. Otherwise they may just be killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

I didn't stay at the resort but I spent a day in West Bay with friends snorkeling and we finished it off with a meal at infinity. It is definitely the high end choice to eat here. Walking through their facility their pool is awesome and it looks like they got everything. We looked at the buffet but it didn't have enough selection for $25. We decided to eat near the beach which I would recommend. Our of our 5 dishes, 3 were good, 2 were meh. With high prices it stresses for excellent product so it makes it easy to criticize. I will say the staff seemed like they had 5 star hospitality training. Overall, a little rich for my blood but for those looking to pay for being pampered, you'll like it here.
I'm staying in West End and taking a $3 water taxi to come here during the day if I want to use the beach.

We vacationed Mar 11-18 through Sunwing. The resort was perfect for our family of four (including two girls 13 and 16). We have travelled to many all inclusives throughout the Caribbean. Most were much, much larger. The larger offer amenities and variety that a small resort simply can't, but all of us preferred the easy relaxed feel of this resort. The staff were simply incredible.

Snorkelling - by far the best experience we have had as a family - and for me, comparable to the Great Barrier Reef some 25 years ago. Just stick on your flippers and go off the beach in front of the resort - I spent hours.

Beach - it's busy - we chose it because our teens want some liveliness. The Roatanians are lovely. There are lots of vendors but they are not pressuring you, we laughed and joked and bartered with them.

Rooms - amazing and clean, beds are great

Food - it's not a big resort and does not have the choices of a large resort but all of us were happy with the fresh, healthy offerings, nothing fancy but all well cooked. My daughter has nut allergies and everyone was extremely accomodating - even making her a special pasta dish on one night because their were walnuts in the pesto sauce. We also welcomed just wearing shorts to the buffet.

Staff - The GM, Rick, has to be commended for developing such a wonderful team. Everyone has a wonderful, welcoming smile. We did not have even a minor issue. We loved Eldon's gospel singing - it made our holiday special. The waiters at the buffet, the bartenders and servers at the Palapa bar and even the security staff were all lovely people. There have been some complaints about slow service but we think it's comparable to other resorts - and fine with us - we are on holiday, relax, breathe.

Excursions - the kids and hubbie went ziplining at south shore and parasailing and loved both of them. Booking through sunwing and/or the resort was more expensive than booking the parasailing off the beach - and its on the same boat.

Sunwing - it was fine - the staff on Roatan were very good. It's a discount airline so we don't expect much. The planes were on time both ways.

We loved it!

Room Tip: We were on the highest floor near the buffet. We had a great ocean view and a wonderful room but th...
