Great property in West Bay - probably the best in the area! We stayed for a week in September. Had an oceanfront unit (rented at vrbo.com), which obviousy makes for better views than those not close to the water. The resort is still under contruction, so there is a temporary lobby. When finished, the lobby and accompanying restaurant will surely be nice. But, we understood there won't be a Spa when the build-out is done. So, the name of the resort may be a bit deceiving to some.

The Palapa Bar's food is filling - if the Buffalo Chicken sammy is on the lunch special, GET IT! Skip dinner there - it's not all that great and there are other options in West Bay that are better (Vintage Pearl, Foster's).

The beach is very well maintained, and the property is near the end of the developed stretch of land along the beach. So, it's quieter than other beaches in the Bay. The pool is fantastic - so much that we spent most of our time there. August/September is slow in the Bay Islands, and somedays we felt like we had the whole pool to ourselves.

We recommend Infinity Bay above all else in West Bay. There is little to do in West Bay when the sun goes down, but water taxis into West End are fairly easy to secure (though not terribly inexpensive). A tip on the water taxis - if possible arrange for the resort's water taxi to bring you home (though it only runs until 9:30 or so). If you're going to do a bit of partying in West End, getting a water taxi home at night's end is impossible. Just grab one of the regular land-based cabs for a ride back to the resort (should run you $10-12 one way).

Room Tip: The closer you are to the ocean, the better the views.

Dear Fuuzy27,
The entire staff at Infinity Bay deeply appreciates your very good review and strong recommendation. We discussed your review the next day at our staff meeting. Your understanding was that we will not be having a Spa……good news, our plans for a state of the art Spa never changed. It is part of the final phase that is taking place in the far rear of the property. The Spa will boost men’s and ladies looker room, six treatment rooms, relaxation lounge and retail space. We are all very excited about this world class addition – look for grand opening details! Also we will be installing a fitness center that will offer the best experience on the island.

Next time you visit Infinity Bay I would like to set up a personal tasting for your family to experience our culinary abilities. We have just launched a new menu that includes such items as fire cracker shrimp and veal parmesan.

Again, thank you for your time to share your experiences and we all look forward to welcoming you back.

Just spent a long weekend there and I was enchanted. The resort is beautiful, well-planned and the beach is well-maintained. Since I burn easily, I was on the beach early in the morning and observed the workers cleaning the beach of any debris and raking it down so it would be pristine.

Most employees seem to be bilingual so there was never a communication problem. The service is a bit slow at times but then again, it is island-paced and we were on vacation. We had no problem with the hot water, the a/c or any other things that have been commented on.

I would not hesitate to return again. Beds were quite comfy, the kitchen was adequately supplied and there is a small market a short distance from the hotel for those who prefer to cook some of their own meals.

Some substitutes were offered when they did not have normal ingredients (for example, corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas for the shrimp taco, which was fabulous and the guacamole which accompanies the taco is delicious). Local beers are inexpensive and served really cold.

Room Tip: We were on top floor which had a great view of the resort and the beach.

Beautiful condo property at the west end of West Bay Beach - we stayed in a ground floor 1 BR unit (601) and spent each night on the porch looking out over the fabulous landscaping and infinity pool. Most mornings we had breakfast outdoors at the Palapa Bar - very tasty yogurt and granola (big bowl for $5) and fresh fruit plates ($4.95). Never waited too long for any meal - when you order pizza it has to be made and baked so it may take half an hour or so. Always a specially priced selection offered for lunch and dinner which was posted on the board. All the staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful. This is a great choice for those looking for central air (important if you want to get out of the heat - it was definitely hot), away from mosquitos (I was quite susceptible and used 100% deet in the evening when I was finished being in the water and outside for dinner), full kitchens, and those who love pools. It is a short walk to other local places to eat as well as Mangiamo's Deli for rum, soda, and snacks to stock up on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Infinity Bay to anyone.

We stayed there in August . This was our third time at the Infinity Bay Resort. We had a good time as usual, except the transfer was not there to pick us up at the airport. After we cleared the customs, we were told the bus / van is on it's way and it would take about 35 minutes. We waited for about 25 minutes and we were told that we can hop on the Mayan Princess's transfer instead of waing. They took us there after they dropped off there guests at the Mayan Princess Resource down the beach.
Actually the same thing happened to us 2 years ago. No one was there to greet us at the airport. We had to call Infinity Bay ourselves before they send the van to pick us up. The plane landed at noon and we did not get to the resort until 3 or 3:30pm. We never got an explanation. So do not rely on Infinity Bay's airport transfer.

Dear Ron_janic

Thank you for sharing your experience and on behalf of the entire team we apologize for the experience you encountered with transportation during your visit. You only get one chance at a first impression and with us it starts with transportation. We appreciate your understanding but I can assure you that this is issue being addressed so the airport arrival experience exceeds expectations as well.

We all look forward to forth trip back to Infinity Bay!
