I just had a very pleasant experience at Rumors. The owners, Erna and Larry were so welcoming and this place really makes you feel at home. The house is literally minutes from the nicest beach on Roatan, and walking distance to restaurants, a small grocery store, atm machine, etc. but is up a small driveway away from main road, so it is also serene and cozy, while being moments away from some action. The private pool is an added bonus. I went to Roatan to scuba dive, and Rumors is right up the street from a great dive shop as well. If you are not one for resorts, this place is for you! I would recommend it to anyone.

We heard an AWESOME "Rumor" . . .

The cabana was breathtaking and always kept emaculant. The "Pool Boy" (Lar) always made sure the salt water pool was soooo inviting and surely was refreshing. The "Gourmet Chef" (Erna) made the most delicious meals that would start our day on the island healthy and energized. The groundskeeper always made sure the retreat was maintained and the gardner made sure flowers were specially placed around the living quarters to add to the ambiance.

This is truly an island paradise . . . and we wanted to start spreading the word "Rumor" about this island retreat ... "Rumors on Roatan" in West Bay!!!

Until next time when we want to place our toes in the water, [--] in the sand . . . Definitely will stay again at Rumors on Roatan . . . Great Location, Great Hosts and a Great time in paradise!!!

We spent the better part of a month(Jan-Feb.2013) in Roatan and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. While there, we did some scouting for a place to stay on our next trip.
We found it. Rumours is situated perfectly. A short two and a half minute walk to the West Bay Beach front and a strip mall within a minutes walk. The walk to the beach is a SAFE, straight and well lit street that we used many days and nights during our stay at W/B. We popped in unannounced and were greeted by the friendly proprietors whom were busy at the time but were more than happy to show us around. There is a new bungalow, pool and deck area in front of the main residence.This bungalow is spotless. A compact studio style appeared very functional for 1 or 2 guests. With all the amenities as well as a/c. The deck and pool area are right in front of the bungalow giving the feel of your own private area and certainly looked inviting. The prices were reasonable and do include breakfast. When we get our plan in place for a return to Roatan, Rumours will definitely be on our radar.

Rumors was the perfect Roatan vacation destination. It's location was perfect, close to the beach but far enough away for it to still feel private. The snorkling right off of the beach was unbelievable.
We always felt safe in the WestBay area walking around going to dinner in the evenings. The property is also surrounded by fencing and always felt secure.
The beautiful private pool right outside our room was the perfect spot to relax or cool off.
Larry and Erna were amazing hosts full of information and always wanting to go the extra mile to make our stay with them unforgetable. We can't wait to stay there again.
