“big rooms nice staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014 via mobile

Although a 20min walk from the center, this hotel is quite comfortable, clean and pleasant, thanks to a strict no smoking policy! Staff is available 24/7 to help out, breakfast is pretty good and lots of parking out front.

My husband was here on business for 2 nights, and I came along. This is not a central location. It is a 30-40 minute walk to the center. We had room 1 on the 1st floor. It is a roomy corner room with two windows, a nice sized bathroom with bathtub, couch, air conditioning, and WiFi. The room was acceptable and clean. The room does not have a desk so to use the computer or do any work you must use the coffee table which is not too comfortable for your back. There are screens on the one window that opens, but because the room is on a main traffic street, it is quieter to use the air conditioning. There is no elevator. The hotel staff does not speak any English, and even with my husband's Ukrainian co-worker did not seem very helpful. The staff did not offer to call a taxi when asked about taxi service. The staff did not have maps for the area, and when asked for a map, simply pulled out the phone book and turned to the map page. So the biggest con for me was the unhelpful reception staff. Breakfast must be ordered the night before and is extra. In fact, if you want milk/cream with your coffee, it will cost you 1hrv extra per little plastic cup of cream--not a lot of money, but it just leaves the guest without any desire to return to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street if you desire quiet.

I tryed a few hotels in Vinnitsa, but Status is the best hotel among them in my oppinion.
Pros: Calm, clean, polite staff, rooms fit me well, easy to get from railway station.
Cons: Sometimes fuly booked, breakfast not included (as in most of Vinnitsa hotels - you have to pay extra),

This summer I’ve stayed in Status hotel twice and spent about a week there, all in. Probably not ideal for those seeking central location and full set of the hotel services, it met all my needs.

Booked an apartment suite (caUS$110 as of August 2012) few days before the arrival by phone. No advance payment was requested; the hotel receptionist merely asked to call if our plans would have changed. Check-in upon arrival was very smooth and took just a few minutes.

Status hotel is very easy to reach of you drive: it is located right on Kyivska Street, which is a continuation of E583 Zhytomyr- Vinnytsya highway and is one of the main entrances to the city of Vinnytsya.

For the same reason some might probably find this hotel a bit noisy. But our suite faced a private house next to the hotel, so when the windows were open there was more noise from the neighbours’ barking dog and meowing cats than from the road.

Status is hardly in the walking distance to the city centre or its main sights, but is in about some 5min drive away from them. And there is a trolley stop right next to the hotel.

Note that if you drive from the city centre, you can’t turn left to the hotel yard. We just headed to the nearby crossroad a hundred meters away and made a U-turn in it.

A small outdoor parking lot for no more than 8 cars is right in front of the hotel. It is for the hotel guests only and is free. It can’t be reserved and if fully occupied (never happened to us), there is a paid city parking in about 5-7 minutes walk, for less than 1 USD per night.

Status is a mini-hotel, occupying a small four-storey building. It seems to be either relatively new, or recently renovated.

There is no elevator, stairs only; and the higher the rooms are located, the cheaper they seem to be. Our suite was on the first floor; the ground floor had reception and the restaurant.

There is no porter as such, and we travelled light, anyway. But I understood there was a hotel member able to assist with the luggage, if needed.

The hotel has a sauna with a small pool, but I didn’t try them.

The suite was fabulous! It consisted of a large living-room and bedroom, and was amazingly spacious, stylish and clean.

There was a large king-size bed in the bedroom and a sofa in the living-room that could serve as a spare sleeping place. The living room had a small fridge with the mini-bar, a dining table, and there were cutleries and set of dishes and glasses available, but no tea/coffee-making facilities. However, anything – from boiled water or tea/coffee to dinner was available from the restaurant.

Both rooms had wide-screen plasma TVs with huge number of channels, including some foreign ones (normally we don’t watch it, but one of the stays was during Euro-2012).

We only used A/C during our second stay, when it was above 30C outside. It worked properly, and was quiet and strong enough to keep the desired temperature in the entire suite.

Free WiFi had a stable good signal.

To be really picky, I’d only mention scarcity and location of power outlets (sockets) as a tiny problem.

The bathroom was truly of my dream! It was amazingly large, and had both a bath (with no curtain though) and a shower with hydro-massage system that worked perfectly and was easy to regulate. Such a rare thing – there was ample space around the sink for all my stuff, sufficient set of towels and a thought-through light system. Just lovely!

There were all the necessities - bathrobe and slippers, basic toiletries and a hairdryer available.

Breakfasts are not included, and are a la carte, no buffet. Breakfasts are ordered in advance through the reception for any time convenient for you. Dinners can also be ordered for any time – they would then call us to the room and invite us down.

The choice is not too diverse, and the meals are rather home-like than restaurant-like: simple presentation, unpretentious menu, but very tasty. And at a ridiculously low prices!

Get ready that there’s only one person cooking and serving, so they might be slow. Also, for the same reason the restaurant (I’d rather call it “kitchen”) has its operating hours, and sometimes at mid-day when the cooks change each other they might make a break and only cook some simple things.

They don’t serve any alcohol, but you can bring your own.

The hotel staff is very friendly and smiling. The entire atmosphere is less of the hotel and more of an apartment rental with restaurant as a bonus.

The housekeeping was daily and very good; the room and bathroom were kept very clean.

I’m not sure though how much (if any) English is spoken here. At least their web-site is in Russian only.

Although located somewhat away from the city centre, Status hotel was a perfect base for us exploring the area of Vinnytsya by car. We have stayed here twice this summer and would gladly return again.

Room Tip: Apartment is perfectly spacious, with large bathroom
