After re-visiting Minsters on numerous occasions since my last review sadly things have gone downhill.
Not only dined at Minsters with a large party, as a couple but also for a celebration sad to say we will not be returning.
Visited recently for the early evening menu, service for taking drink & food orders fine but not warm and welcoming or in any way friendly (this has happened on other occasions as well, so not a one off) but way to much hovering over tables making a relaxed conversation impossible with staff just walking back and forth and standing at what at times seems to be your elbow.
Anyway order arrives, food really not good at all, a soup like liquid with a few bits of very tasteless chicken and a few barely cooked pieces of onion and raw tomatoes was passed as a Dupiaza. But to be fair when this was mentioned I was told I could have a drier consistency the next time as people have asked for the dish to be made in that way. Sorry excuse IMO, if you know your curry’s you would not choose this if you wanted a soup curry, sorry a wet dish. Think it was a hybrid or what was to hand in the kitchen at the time
Other curry’s were mediocre and really quite bland and again not really what was described, very sorry butter chicken not for the first time, but the rice was ok.
All in all we will not be back (and were not the only ones) as we have given them a few chances in the past as all restaurants do have off days but this has now become unacceptable to serve food such as this and expect customers to return.
