“Wonderful Fall Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We were married at the Northridge Inn this Fall. It was a wonderful experience. Brenda and Michael were very helpful in coordinating the details. The resort is a beautiful, rustic place for a wedding. The dinning room feels just like you're enjoying a big family dinner party! It is small enough that it feels very intimate and cozy. Wood paneled room looking out over the lake, with a fire burning. It was magical. The food was excellent, with big portions, and lovely presentation. Our guests really enjoyed themselves.
I would recommend the Northridge for someone looking for a rustic, Northern setting for their wedding. This place is not fancy or flashy. The grounds are beautiful, and being right on Lake Bernard is perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for the room by the hot tub and the beach-- on the lower level! It's really nice!

We stayed here the last 2 nights of the fall season. We found the place through a Wagjag voucher which included a bottle of wine and breakfast.

Reading the reviews and looking at the website we expected a rustic, cozy little retreat. But this place is freaking BEAUTIFUL. The Rooms are way nicer than expected, and the entire resort grounds are so nice. We canoed. We kayaked. We spent hours in the hot tub. We played Tennis. The entire experience was just awesome.

And clearly I'm really bad at writing reviews, but I can't express how great this place is. Yes, we want to go again.

Arrived on the Monday of Labour Day, only a handful of other couples during our stay. Nice and quiet, Mike and Brenda were incredible hosts. Meals (Breakfast and Dinner) were outstanding, paired up with some great wine choices. Hot tub was relaxing and a nice canoe around the lake worked up an appetite for dinner on our second day. We will certainly return, hopefully for a longer stay. 2 days goes by waaay too fast.

Easily one of the best place to stay! Everything was great and my girlfriend and I had a fantastic time. So much to do here we didn't leave the Inn the first day. Walked a long the beach, then decided to do some kayaking. The outdoor hot tub was really relaxing, we didn't get a chance to use the pool/sauna. The view is amazing, specially during sunrise/sunset. Had dinner in the dining room the first day, the food pretty good. Everyone was friendly and nice there, always a smile on their face. I will definitely return in the near future! Great value!

Room Tip: The A/C unit does tend to be a bit noisy in the room we stayed in. Specially when it starts, it make...

this the vacation Canadians used to always take, alot of history here and in this area. wonderful lake, nice sand and very warm despite this colder summer. LOTS of activities and amenities, from the pool and hot tub, kayaks and canoes, outdoor sports like tennis, horseshoes and shuffle board it was a great find. the rooms were a bit dated, but this only made me think of my families cottage. cottages are always rustic and homey! nice REAL fireplaces in every room too. ! of our beds was comfy, one was not. but overall it was a great weekend away. great weather helped!
found this on an online deal and was a great price for what we received.
the restaurant is pricy, but the service and food quality justify it, never mind the convenience. still dinner for 2 with taxes and tip came to $100 breakfast was $30 for 2 as well.
reservations must be made so they know how many to prepare for. this is a few kms from the nearest supplies!
2 unique things about this resort: one was the great care and attention by the staff. made this place feel like a 5 star resort, esp by the owners! they are are always right there in the lobby ready to help.

two was this is an ideal wedding location. the prices listed for it are fantastic, the area is beautiful, as well as the feed back they have on this make it a great choice.... made me think... lol

Room Tip: top floor of the main building has great view and easy access to parking lot, but the lower level is...

My husband and I were married here in July and we couldn’t have found a better location! We had a wedding of 102 people, which was perfect for the Northridge. One of the deciding factors for choosing the Northridge was the unique pier overlooking Lake Bernard. We love the water and water sports, so it was the perfect location for our ceremony. We were married literally on the water!

Second reason we chose the Northridge is the location! We are from very active families that grew up with cottages, so the grounds provided a perfect atmosphere for us. There are so many things to do if you enjoy the great outdoors! Even between the ceremony and the reception we had guests playing shuffleboard!

The deciding factor to choosing the Northridge was the food. When we went for our tasting the food was amazing. It was so delicious we had a hard time choosing our reception menu! The dinner service went by without a hitch and we are still receiving compliments on the food! I let the kitchen know ahead of time about the multiple allergies, and they were extremely accommodating.

Beautiful dinner service, however, the best time by far was the evening dance reception afterwards! My husband was concerned the bar would be too small for the dance, as both our families love to “cut a rug”. However, it actually worked out much better than we had anticipated. It allowed the perfect amount of space for dancing while the rest of the facility and grounds provided many opportunities for those that either didn’t want to dance or wanted a break. It encouraged more people on the dance floor as there wasn’t a crowd of people watching. Those that didn’t want to dance were either out by the fire roasting marshmallows, socializing on the patio, or relaxing in the hot tub and sauna. Some of our guests even went for a dip in the lake to cool down.

Overall, the Northridge made for a PERFECT venue for a wedding. Michael and Brenda were a huge help in the planning process, aiding in any questions or concerns we had. We will definitely be back whenever we can.

What a wonderful place to stay. Like going to Friend's cottage. Lots of activities are included, like hottub, sauna, kayak, canoe, horseshoes, shuffleboard, bikes & more. Brenda & Michael are great hosts/owners. Very helpful and always smiling. Free WIFI in the lobby area and various locations but not in the room. But who cares when you are too busy. Leave your computer and cell phone in the trunk!
Excellent value for the money. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ground floor walks directly out to the yard. Cottages have kitchen facilities.
