“felt like home..... but I didn't have to cook!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

I would highly recommend this B&B on Manitoulin Island. Charlene and Gord are extremely nice, friendly comfortable hosts. The home is very clean, overlooks the water and the bedrooms are quiet and away from the activity in the home. This was my second time staying here in four years. Both times were great. This time it felt like I was staying with family. Charlene makes a wonderful breakfast, extremely generous portions and depending on the situation you may even get a muffin or two for the road!

Room Tip: Both times I was here my sister and I shared the master bedroom. It has a king bed which was awesom...

We stayed at Willow Shores for 3 nights in August.

The room was comfortable and the hospitality was excellent. Charlene went out of her way to help us enjoy our time on the island. Her breakfasts were fantastic and she even made us a sandwich to go when we were leaving at 6:00 AM.

The other guests were also very friendly and interesting.

Nothing but the best! Willow Shores is THE Quintessential B&B Experience & all other B&B's ought to model themselves after Willow Shores !!...that's what you'll experience from your hosts Charlene & Gord at Willow Shores B&B. From their warm, open , friendly welcome the minute you step foot on the property , to the way they make you a part of their family........all the way to Charlene's A1 breakfasts served to order when you decide to wake up...and in the most breath-taking of surroundings and waterside vistas Manitoulin has to offer , not to mention those stunning sunrises over Manitowaning Bay & right from every window facing bayside!....you'll make this your favourite retreat for years to come....because it is just like that...it's like "coming home". The rooms are meticulously and beautifully decorated & kept , as is the entire home. You'll be oh so comfortable !
Charlene is a fabulous cook and her baking is next to none , with homemade bread of different varieties baked fresh daily , from natural island sourced ingredients , flours & grains all while taking care to ensure you have a multitude of choices to snack from at whim....you'll never leave hungry from Willow Shores if Charlene has anything to say about it !! Gord & Charlene are your answer to home away from home......Willow Shores is my choice on Manitoulin Island !!

We had previously stayed at a B&B close to Little Current, but it closed and were obliged to find a new place for our annual visit. We were nervous, however, Lucky us! Willow Shores is a 10, straight up: Totally clean, outstanding furnishings and art work, excellent food, great location, super hosts, great Internet and cable TV connections, lovely grounds, comfortable bed, quiet neighbourhood, top-notch all round, and about 20 minutes to an Alpaca Farm, what a treat. Willow Shores made for another wonderful visit to Manitoulin Island.

We are repeat visitors to this delightful b&b, and this time brought friends, who as it turns out were familiar with the owners in another setting. Serendipity. We love the setting, the history of the place, and the owners' friendship and concern for everything. We saw a wonderful Gilbert and Sullivan production at Burns Wharf, and enjoyed the exceptional breadfasts of our hosts and the conversation and companionship of both them and their other guests. It happened to be cherry-picking time. Fortuitous and delicious.

Room Tip: The room fronting on Manitowaning Bay with its own deck is ideal.

We just returned from a three day stay at Willow Shores. This is an excellent B & B. The hosts, Gord and Charlene, are the most hospitable couple you are likely to find. Their entire home is opened up to you and you are treated like a family guest. Charlene makes the most delicious and wholesome breakfasts you could ever ask for. Everything is homemade, including the jams and jellies. A typical breakfast starts with muffins or scones followed by omelettes, eggs benedict, or pancakes, all accompanied by plenty of fruit.
We stayed in the Music Room, their premium room with a king sized bed, it's own deck and a spectacular view of the lake. We would highly recommend this home for your stay on Manitoulin Island.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in their king bedroom (called the music room). Its a very large room with ensuite bath and was super comfortable. I enjoyed sitting on the small deck off the bedroom one afternoon reading and had the company of several hummingbirds buzzing me or sitting right next to me. Way cool. Charlene provides an excellent breakfast in the morning (my favorite was the waffles with homemade berries for a topping...yum!). They will cater to different dietary needs and also provide extra muffins or scones to take as a snack during the day. That was really great! A very welcoming couple and enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: We did not see the other rooms but loved the music room with the king bed.
