“What a sweet homey little place”

Visiting Manitowaning is like stepping back in time to a simpler pace of life, and staying at "My Friend's Inn" completes the experience. It was so relaxing sitting out in front of our room reading in the sun in our rocking chairs, and getting a friendly visit from Mini Cooper the cat, who greets all the guests. We sipped our complementary premium coffee and tea, and felt right at home.

Room Tip: Wifi was on and off because of service on and off on the Island, other than that, the room we had...

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and did not want to leave this motel!
The owners detail to the rooms and grounds are top rate.
We were on a motorcycle and got caught in rain when we arrived . The owner made a point of bringing extra towels so I could clean and dry my bike. This happened during check in. I knew then that we were going to like this place.
They are very friendly and helpful to their guests.
We will be back for sure.
Thanks Maureen!!
Cheers,
Don and Ellen Pigeon

A warm welcome. The room is comfortable and clean with all you need at a reasonable price. We couldn't find fault with the motel. The price is very reasonable. If you want à good dinner ,Try the restaurant down the road: reasonable princes for freshly cooked local fish.

Charming owners and charming cat! Not so much an inn as a very nicely renovated motel, a row of eight rooms. The Inn comes complete with a charming cat who loves belly rubs. The rooms are well equipped and nicely appointed with coffee maker, microwave and some basic dishes. The floors are a nice hardwood and the in was clean and quiet, The owner was very helpful finding us food after the restaurant in town was closed (we got take out from the golf course) and with storing our bikes. There's a BBQ there and a nice area for sitting outside and so if we'd been more organized we might have cooked there. We stayed for 2 nights..Very very friendly owners. They allowed early check-in upon request. Rooms are newly renovated and well furnished. Quiet neighbourhood, close to the beach and restaurant.

We enjoyed the gas BBQ...Will visit again if I get a chance..

Room very clean and equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Owners cheerful, friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to do on the island. We enjoyed Sunday brunch with local people at the Manitowaning Golf Club very much. (Hotel guests were allowed a 10 percent discount). We found the Centennial Museum at Shaguiandah really interesting. Manitoulin scenery is wonderful, and the residents were all friendly and welcoming. My Friend's Inn is perhaps a 30 km drive from the ferry and about 30 km from the Little Current bridge across to the mainland. I would highly recommend My Friend's Inn to anyone looking for a place to stay on Manitoulin Island.

We stayed a night while in town for an event. The room was immaculate! There were all the amenities you could want or need in the room. The service was exceptional and had a very welcoming feel. The location is perfect for anyone planning to make day trips around the island as it is fairly central.
