Close to the charming and interesting town of Bergerac but not in its crowded centre. We have visited this hotel twice in the last 2 years and I wanted to get it on TripAdvisor the first time but didn't succeed (probably I'm technologically challenged!). This is an old coaching inn in a pleasant rural situation, with a lovely terrace surrounded by flowers, where you can eat under an umbrella - or go into the restaurant if you prefer. The food is delicious and the couple who run the hotel (and do the cooking) are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and quiet (some face the road but the hotel is up a slope and the windows have double glazing if you need it - we experienced no disturbance). This is a small hotel with no ostentatious trimmings but just real service and quality where it matters. Parking space off the road.
If you are visiting Bergerac you will probably want to look in on a winery or two - easy to do from this hotel. The one we visited asked where we were staying and, when we told them, commented that the hotel had "une bonne table". So it has. We hope to stay there again this year.
One point: the path up to the hotel entrance is quite steep - we are both over 60 and had no trouble with it, but someone with a mobility problem possibly might.
