We too were caught by cold and rainy weather and were staying in a nearby country house where we agreed all too quickly to stay for dinner the first night. The experience there made us determined to find something much more adequate after all the good food we had had so far on our SA trip.
We studied bascially all eating possibilities in Tulbagh and both agreed we had found the right place at Readers.
We made a reservation and were heartily greeted 15 minutes too early with a sherry, offered a nice place for two and the menu, which we had already studied online.
Appetizer of Butternut Soup was delicious.
Main course of Wildebeest with gooseberry and amarula sauce - perfectly combined.
Finally the dessert, Trio of Homemade Ice cream -try to guess the flavors, the perfect conclusion to an excellent dinner.
