My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in September 2005 after reviewing TripAdvisor and seeing the web site, which turned out to be fully accurate.
The B&B was excellent value and I'm still smiling as I write this, as the whole Provence experience was a highlight of our 5 week European trip.
The Presbytery is a lovely old 2 storey provencal building next to a chapel built by the crusaders 1000 years ago. There are 3 large guest rooms in the B&B, two upstairs and one downstairs. All with ensuites. Our room was large, quiet and very comfortable. The decor is very(!) eclectic and staying there was great fun. The old chapel building is slowly being renovated and will be truly amazing as accommodation.
The owner is Marie, a charming lady who provided great continental breakfasts at the communal table downstairs, where we met 2 other couples on driving and/or cycling tours. In warmer weather, breakfast is apparently served in the lovely garden. Part of the fun was communicating (Marie's English was better than our French) and we got valuable advice about which of the local villages were must-sees, when the markets were on, etc.
The Presbytere is situated 2 minutes from St Etienne which is more like a semi rural district rather than a town. It is situated in the absolute heart of Provence with excellent road access to all of the fantastic towns and villages of the area - Avignon, Chateauneuf du Pape, Arles (you MUST go on market day), Les Baux (wow), Gordes (wow), Nimes and Aix. It is very close to the larger villages of St Remy de Provence (in particular) and Tarascon for many choices of evening restaurants and little shops to browse in.
A car is a must, but be careful following the directions, as the signposting is tricky, particularly after dark. If, like us, you can't decide between staying in a village or out in the countryside of Provence, but do want to be in the centre of everything, we'd recommend The Presbytere. And it's bargain-priced too.
