Our children booked us into this wonderful place as a surprise for our 40th wedding anniversary.
The welcome we received from Sara and Ken was brilliant and quite unexpected.
The room was spotless as was the rest of the public areas , bright and very welcoming. Everything you needed was at hand.
We arrived at 4.00 pm with Ken and Sara organizing our cab from Jackfield rather than Telford as it was a great deal cheaper. After settling in to our room , we were offered hot fresh blueberry scones - home baked- together with the much needed pot of tea. Just the job.
We were briefed and guided on local eateries and the attractions and to use the 'galley' as often as we liked.( There were more types of tea than I had ever seen before) You could make toast using the variety of breads that Ken and Sara bake daily , with home made jams on tap.
The Breakfasts :( This would take a page or more on its own) You are given a menu of available breakfasts to order which are in addition to the fresh fruit salads, cereals, fruit juices that you can help yourself to before Ken arrives with the breakfast you ordered . These ranged from the huge Shropshire bacon and eggs, to mackerel and eggs, pancakes ( like you have never had before) bacon and maple syrup to the latest on Ken's menu - toasted brioche with mascarpone cheese covered with fresh strawberries and syrup garnished with sprigs of fresh basil .
At breakfast on the actual morning of our anniversary we were hugely surprised to find greeting cards and goodies awaiting us. This was not the end of it for a few minutes later when all the guests were at table, Ken came in and commenced decanting glasses of 'bubbly' for all present to toast our little event. we loved it
The icing on the cake - literally - came when we returned that evening , tired and foot sore to find that Sara had baked us a huge , very rich, delicious celebration chocolate cake which left us speechless, but did not stop Ken ,Sara and us demolishing quite a bit of it and left a note on the table for other guests to help themselves as there was more than enough for them when they came in later in the evening.
We have never ever had this experience before and will recommend the Severn Trow to anyone going to the area.
Thank you Sara and Ken and Debbie for making our stay so very memorable,
We wish you every success for the season and the future,
Pauline and Noel
