“Great :D”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We had a really good time at Magna Graecia Hotel. My family and I stayed about one week in August, all inclusive and it was great. Starting with the food; the quality of the food was really good, it was super delicious, and there was offered a variety of food every day, three times a day. I have to say that the animations at night were really interesting and they really made our vacations. It started with the little kids at about 30 mins and then it continued with the other events for the adults. Every night something different was offered (at least during the 7 nights we stayed). We had latin night, karaoke night, greek night where some traditional dancers came. I have to say however that the place where these animations were hold, was not really big. In addition, the stuff was really nice, kind and polite. Although the room was a little outdated, it was cleaned everyday. My only remark would be the carpet, which should definitely be cleaned. The pool in front of the hotel was really great and clean too. The fact that the internet was not offered for free though, bothered us a little bit, but that depends on someone's personal interest of course. Also Dassia, the place where the hotel was placed is really nice. Like you basically have everything in the area, small shops, supermarkets, pharmacy etc and its not that far from the city of Corfu either. However the beach is not right in front of the hotel. You have to walk and pass the street (although not that much) in order to get there. However, forgetting these small things our vacation was really great. Like we seriously didn't want to leave :D I would definitely consider again this hotel for my next summer vacation. The price we paid was really low compared to the services and fun we received back. Thank you !

We had a great time at Hotel Magna Graecia. Ok the Hotel does need some slight attention such as an external lick of paint & the furniture in the rooms are rather dated. All the staff are very friendly & hardworking. Our room was cleaned every day including fresh towels. The rooms are rather dated but hey, how long do you spend in them. The barstaff were great especially Spiros, who always had a smile on his face whilst serving yet another Vodka & Fanta lemon!! The food in the restaurant had a selection of food for everyone & the food was very good, the restaurant manager Thomas was always friendly with the guests and even made a special effort for our daughters 5th birthday. The entertainment & activities by Paul were OKAY!! Who tried his best every day including the kids disco which seemed very popular.
Don’t believe the negative reviews, like we did, because they’re wrong. We would go again – Which says it all!!!

I can only review the hotel's caterining facilities and the receptionists since our stay was at Tina Hotel (next door to Magna Graecia). Tina Hotel offers catering services via Magna Graecia due to an agreement between the two hotels.
The receptionists were very friendly and polite and fullfilled our requests (Best regards Kiki!). We have not an image of the rooms since we did not stay there but the communal areas we visited in the hotel were clean and very well taken care of. The main concept of this hotel is the resemblance to a ship. The decoration is classy and the facilities very nice. As far as the restaurant is concerned we are talking about hitting the bulls eye. SUPERB, EXCELLENT Greek kitchen. A variety of options in breakfast and dinner as well (we were accomodated on half board basis). Fruits, salads, fresh cooked meals at great quality, options for vegeterians as well and ambassador class service by the polite and friendly personnel (Best Regards Sokratis!!). I could easily classify Magna Graecia's restaurant among the greatest ones I have visited around the globe and definitely better than others ranked with more stars in Corfu.

My family & I stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of July-August, we had read the reviews & were quite concerned as a lot of them were poor but we liked the look of the hotel & pool so thought we'd give it a go. On arrival the front of the hotel did look a bit scruffy but it was nothing a lick of paint wouldn't sort, the hotel inside was dated but clean even if a little dark due to the colour scheme. We stayed in room 301 which was a bit shabby & the air conditioning was rubbish, it was dripping water onto the carpet for the whole of our stay despite the fact we reported it & someone came to fix it. The view from this room however was glorious & despite the décor & air con the room was clean & well serviced by the maids who worked their socks off. The food at the hotel was always hot but very repetitive with pasta being the main stay of every meal. We knew we were going to have problems with food because my wife is vegetarian & pork features heavily on the menu here & the word 'VEGETARIAN' seems to get the same response from people as 'Scabies' . There is the option for packed lunches from the hotel if you are going out for the day but don't bother with them, the sandwiches are made the day before & kept in the fridge overnight so are like cardboard when you get them. The staff at the hotel were brilliant though, always polite & smiling despite being extremely busy, it's a pity the politeness didn't stretch to the other guests, a majority of which were eastern European ( Russian & Polish mainly ). I have never been in the company of so many rude, greedy people in my life. People were filling their tables up with food, despite the fact you could go back as many times as you wanted, then leaving a majority of it as waste. Shameful. I have been to Corfu several times & love the place dearly, the Greek people are lovely & are truly blessed to be living there. All in all, the hotel was fine, the pool was awesome & never overcrowded, the staff were brilliant but the guests were foul. Give it a go if you have thick skin & don't mind people pushing in front of you.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We stayed here for 2 weeks, end of June, beginning of July. The hotel is a bit dated, but very clean. We weren't happy with our 1st room, and they gave us a choice of 2 to move to, couldn't have been more helpful. The food wasn't up to much the 1st week, but after complaining, the manager came & said it would change, and it did. The food was hotter and much nicer after that. A lot of guests spoilt it by being greedy and then leaving the food which is a huge waste, I have to say it was mainly Easter Europeans who done that. I took my coffee in from the bar at lunch and evening meal as for some reason the machines were switched off after breakfast. Our only moan really is the entertainment, that was terrible, from 9 - 9.30 it was for young kids and they just sang the same songs every night, all different languages with actions, fair enough but not at that time of night, and in the bar area. The rest of the night was terrible, sometimes karaoke, 1 night Greek dancing, and that was it. Not what you would expect at an all inclusive hotel. Some of the moans surprise me, it is a 3 star hotel, but some people were expecting 5 star, you get what you pay for. Met some lovely people who helped us have a great time.
Many, many thanks to the staff, they were great, friendly, helpful, and very patient, so a big thank you to everyone, well done.

Room Tip: Rooms in the annex were much nicer than main hotel.

I went on an all inclusive here on the 30th June. After being delayed at the airport (we had to sit on a hot coach for half an hour) we got to the hotel at 1.45. The receptionist told us that we would be in time for lunch. By the time we got to our room which was the quieter part across the road we were back for lunch at 2.10. The receptionist then told us that we were too late to eat, so we ate out. In the evening we went to dinner and saw a mismash of everything. We dished a plate and the first bite was cold, so again we ate out. This followed a pattern for the whole ten days. The beds by the smaller pool were the most uncomfortable pieces of rubbish. We had to spend the whole holiday down at the beach which was lovely but we had to buy lunch and pay for sunbeds. The room we had 702 had a lovely view was was dark and dingy. The guests mostly Russian and eastern european were a miserable bunch. We said hello and smiled every day but just got a cold stare. We met a nice family from liverpool and Wale at the end and it was so refreshing to have a friendly response. Hi guys, if you are reading this (mum and daughter). I have so much more to say but i am not going to waste any more time. Corfu is beautiful but not the Magna Grecia. We wont be coming back
