The hotel is located approx 25 minutes from Corfu town in a small village. The coastal road is in front of the hotel, the back of the hotel is directly attached to the big garden and small beach.
The lady at the check-in told us we weren't expected soo early (11AM) and asked us if we would like to have a sea view room instead as she then could acommodate us directly. Our luggage was collected and brought to our room at no extra charge.
The lobby of the hotel was large and bright with a through view to the sea. There also is a bar in the lobby. An ATM can be found in the Corfu Chandris a 3 min walk though the garden. All facilities in the Corfu Chandris are also available to Corfu Dassia guests.
Our room was above the roof of the lobby and was very quiet and had a nice view at the sea though is was somewhat obstructed by the roof of the lobby which is quite big. Our room was approx 30sq meters andhad a queen bed. The bathroom had ameneties like shampoo, cleansing milk etc. The overall impression of the room was very good. During our stay we got new bed linen every day and the cleaning staff was very friendly and courteous (if hotel shampoo was used we got a new bottle etc). The mini-bar had a good selection and was reasonably priced (1/2liter water 1 Euro, 25cl soft drink 1,80). When we ran out of water one call to the reception desk was enough to have if refilled. There also was a safe in the room which was free of use.
The pool of the Dassia Chandris had a good size and a seperate childrens pool. There is a pool bar with drinks and limited choice of snack. The beds are free of charge and the terrace of the pool bar had plenty of parasols for shade.
The big garden has plenty of trees for shade as well and the hotel rents out beds/towels at EUR 3 a day. There are several places to buy snacks and a taverna for a decent lunch near the beach. The Dassia Corfu which shares the same beach and garden also has a swimming pool and two jacuzzi's (free of charge). Also in the Dassia Corfu a fully equipped and staffed gym (free of charge).
The Dassia Chandris also has an open-air cinema with recent titles and a BOSE surround system. There is a small booth where you can buy fresh popcorn and drinks. Other entertainment are live music and once a week a magic show and a traditional Greek dance group. During day-time there also is a full time entertainer doing aqua-jogging, yoga training etc. to keep guest busy. For the children there also is a staffed mini-club so parents can relax and hotel staff takes care of the kids.
The buffet in the Dassia Chandris has 4 different days which roulate so if you stay two weeks you'll get 3x the same choice. The buffet itself offers good choice of salads, appetizers and main coursed. In general there are 4 choices of everything. The quality of the food is above average to good. The dining room also has a big terrace which overlooks the garden and the sea. The staff is also very courteous and friendly here.
Further ameneties in the hotel include a book store, satellite interenet (2 systems) a jeweller, a SIXT car rental desk almost all travel organisations you can think of for excursions etc.
When the hotel closes this October '06 to April '07 all rooms will be renovated. I think the hotel is now approx 15 years but has been well maintained. Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpfull, they were very involved in the hotel and it looked like many of them worked here for a long time and there was a good atmosphere amongst staff.
The staff and cleanliness made me decide this is an excellent property and not above average.
Price/Value was good: we paid approx EUR 1.600 per person half board including airfare ex. AMS for 14 nights in August which is the high of the high-season in Greece
